Leveraging Wearable Ring Data for Early SARS-CoV-2 Detection

Researchers from UCSF, UCSD, and MIT-LL, with support from USAMRDC and MTEC, developed an algorithm using Oura Ring data for early COVID-19 detection. Analyzing 63,153 participants, the algorithm identified symptoms 2.75 days before testing. The study also linked post-vaccine elevated temperature to stronger antibody responses. This research advances wearable health monitoring, benefiting both military and civilian populations by enabling early illness detection and improved pandemic response strategies.
