What We Do

GESI is a study abroad program that provides undergraduates with the knowledge, tools, and experiences to partner with communities to confront shared global challenges. It includes collaborative experiential learning opportunities that develop global leaders while contributing to sustainable community development.

The Querrey InQbation Lab is a hub for university startup companies, providing a space for Northwestern’s entrepreneurial faculty to contribute to innovation through the commercialization of scientific discoveries.



Funded Projects

A Noninvasive, Portable Solution for On-the-Spot Detection and Continuous Monitoring of Concussions and Strokes

With support from USAMRMC and MTEC, researchers have developed SCISCCO—a portable, noninvasive system using infrared spectroscopy to simultaneously monitor brain metabolism and hemodynamics. It shows promise for diagnosing and managing traumatic brain injury and internal bleeding in military and civilian settings, offering real-time insights to guide treatment and improve patient outcomes.
