Index HealthTech

Index HealthTech develops passive, contactless monitoring infrastructure that detects functional decline and physiological drift before adverse health events occur—without wearables, cameras, or subject compliance. The company’s patent-pending Sense™ platform uses mmWave radar and far-field acoustics to continuously measure respiration, mobility, sleep, gait, and behavioral patterns across six domains. These signals are translated into the Healthy Habits Index™ (HHI™), a 0–100 behavioral biomarker that quantifies functional status and change over time. At the system level, Index HealthTech models individual trajectories to identify early-stage decline patterns before they become clinical events or mission-limiting conditions—enabling intervention during the narrow window where outcomes can still be altered. The platform is designed for environments where traditional monitoring fails: uncontrolled living spaces, high-throughput care settings, and operational environments where compliance-dependent tools are impractical. It requires no physical contact, no per-user calibration, and no behavioral change from the monitored individual. Backed by over $5M in NIH and NIA funding, Index HealthTech is advancing a new class of continuous behavioral biomarkers with direct application to warfighter health monitoring, veteran care, traumatic brain injury recovery, PTSD-related behavioral drift, and post-deployment readiness assessment.

Passive monitoring platform for aging populations and continuous health assessment

Passive, contactless monitoring system designed to detect early-stage physiological and functional decline in aging populations—without requiring wearables, cameras, or user compliance. Using mmWave radar and far-field acoustic sensing, the platform continuously measures respiration, mobility, sleep, and behavioral patterns, transforming raw signals into structured health indicators and predictive risk insights. The system is purpose-built for older adults and cognitively impaired populations where traditional monitoring and diagnostic pathways often fail due to non-compliance. It enables continuous assessment of functional status, sleep, recovery, and cognitive state in real-world living environments without disrupting the individual. Outputs support early intervention, reduce falls and hospitalizations, and improve safety, independence, and long-term outcomes—while also extending to clinical and operational settings where reliable monitoring has historically been unattainable.

Passive OSA Detection for Non-Compliant Populations

Contactless system for detecting sleep-disordered breathing in populations where traditional diagnostic pathways fail due to lack of compliance. Uses radar-based sensing to monitor respiratory patterns during sleep without requiring wearables, sensors, or patient interaction. Targets underdiagnosed populations, including individuals with cognitive impairment and those unable to complete standard sleep studies, enabling earlier identification and treatment.

Services

Deployment of contactless sensing systems for continuous monitoring of respiration, mobility, sleep, and behavioral patterns in environments where traditional monitoring fails. Supports applications in clinical care, remote patient monitoring, and operational settings requiring non-invasive, non-compliance-dependent assessment of health, recovery, and readiness. Capabilities include pilot deployments, data collection, validation studies, and integration with care workflows or operational systems.

Clinical Validation & Field Deployment Programs

Design and execution of validation studies and pilot programs to evaluate passive monitoring technologies in real-world environments, including healthcare systems, senior care, and government or defense-related settings. Focused on generating evidence for regulatory, reimbursement, and operational adoption.
