Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC)
The Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC) is a non-profit research institute within the Florida University System focused on advancing human capabilities through interdisciplinary research. IHMC develops technologies and systems in artificial intelligence, robotics, human-machine teaming, cognitive systems, distributed computing, human performance monitoring, and cyber-physical security, with major collaborations in defense, healthcare, aerospace, and education. The institute is internationally recognized for pioneering work in resilience, cognition, natural language processing, multiagent systems, human-centered design, and operational excellence. IHMC also partners in academic programs, such as the state’s first Ph.D. in Intelligent Systems and Robotics, to develop expertise for high-demand technology sectors.
