What We Do

Augusta University conducts research programs and facilities that complement its educational objectives, focusing on training world-class innovators, leaders, and healthcare providers.

The university is involved in nearly 300 different funded research activities across various colleges, including Allied Health Sciences, Dental Medicine, Graduate Studies, Medicine, and Nursing.

Augusta University's Core Laboratories are institutionally funded research centers dedicated to meeting scientists’ research needs, supported by the Senior Vice President for Research.

The university conducts a significant amount of research through clinical trials in humans, adhering to federal requirements for human subject research.

This office is actively involved in marketing and commercializing new technologies that promise to change the future for the better.

The university promotes a culture of ethics, integrity, safety, and compliance in research.

This division coordinates and supports Augusta University’s internal and external sponsored projects.

The primary healthcare simulation resource for the healthcare training programs of Augusta University, serving disciplines including nursing, medicine, allied health, and dentistry.

Provides quality basic health and preventive services to students, assisting them in maintaining their maximum physical and emotional health.

Includes Central Supply Services, Clinical Research Pharmacy, Clinical Trials Office, Division of Laboratory Animal Services, Georgia Cancer Center Biorepository, High Performance Computing Services, Institutional Review Board, Lab Equipment Services, Research Support Center, and Research Development Services.

Engages in high impact research related to visual function and disease, aiming for clinical applications for patients with blindness and visual disorders.

An academic health center featuring 478-beds, more than 80 outpatient practice sites, a Critical Care Center, and a 13-county regional Level I trauma center.

A hospital designed just for children, combining a theme of nature and technology to create a safe haven for children and their families, with 154 beds including the region's only Level IV NICU.
