The Coalition for National Trauma Research (CNTR) offers research solutions to companies seeking independent clinical trials of their products. To demonstrate the suite of CNTR’s research coordination services, KeriCure Medical and CNTR will present a case study of their successful Department of Defense grant proposal, a collaboration born from their MTEC M-Corps membership. CNTR is serving as co-investigator and consultant on this project, providing management and coordination support for a multi-site clinical trial of KeriCure Medical’s Field Shield Wound Dressing (FSWD).
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of the FSWD, a spray-on wound dressing, compared to a standard of care silver dressing in the treatment of large burn wounds. This trial will help to establish that FSWD can protect against infection, minimize complications and decrease the need for surgery to close the burn wound.
As a national coordinating center for trauma-related research, the nonprofit CNTR is an ideal co-investigator on any project, with a relatively low indirect rate, two decades of proposal writing and multi-site trial coordination, and a deep bench of grants management expertise. CNTR is also home to a wide array of research assets including GIS expertise for studies with location, distance and time elements; a standing Patient Panel to soundboard patient-centered research; Delphi survey expertise to deploy in consensus projects; and the National Trauma Research Repository for data sharing and secondary analysis.
