Hyperion Biosystems
Hyperion Biosystems, an MIT spin-out tough tech company, is developing revolutionary diagnostics at the interface of chemistry, computer vision, and algorithms (both physics-based and AI-enhanced) to address medicine’s most expensive blind spot – sepsis. Our flagship molecular platform (Helios™) is able to simultaneously detect hundreds of target species, direct-from-blood, with excellent sensitivity (single-copy) and specificity (VAFs in excess of 0.0001%). These capabilities are tailer-made for rapid, pre-culture, pathogen ID and AMR marker detection in patients with suspected BSI or sepsis.

Products
Low cost, fully connected reader system for rapid diagnostics
A hardware-software integrated reader platform that boosts diagnostic assay sensitivity and specificity, compatible with rapid diagnostic assays.
Helios
Platform molecular technology that leverages a combination of padlock probe chemistry, isothermal amplification, and optical detection to enable pre-culture detection and identification of >95% of sepsis-causing pathogens (bacterial and fungi) at single-copy level with a 3 hour turnaround time.
Authentication and anti-counterfeiting solution for solid oral dosage products
Technology for on-dose authentication to prevent counterfeiting of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical tablets and capsules.
