Antag Therapeutics announced the appointment of three new hires to support the Company’s next phase of growth following the recent initiation of a Phase 1 trial of its GIP receptor antagonist AT-7687.

First subjects dosed in double-blind, placebo-controlled trial assessing AT-7687’s safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and metabolic effects in healthy lean subjects and subjects living with obesity. The trial aims to induce weight loss without gastrointestinal side effects.

Joerg Moeller, MD, PhD, was appointed as CEO, succeeding co-founder Alexander Sparre-Ulrich.

The company announced the closing of an €80 million Series A financing round led by Versant Ventures, with participation from several investors.

FDA accepted the IND application for AT-7687, marking a major step in clinical development and the start of Phase I studies.
