Our partnership with MATTER is part of a larger MTEC strategy to develop relationships with Accelerators throughout the country that complement and expand services we offer to our membership. With support originally from the City of Chicago, State of Illinois and area businesses, MATTER opened in February 2015 with 30 startup companies and a few programs and has since supported more than 1,000 healthcare and life sciences companies from around the world, which have raised more than $5 billion to fuel their growth. MATTER also works with dozens of established healthcare and life sciences companies, health systems and associations, helping them innovate more effectively and build the right collaborations with entrepreneurs.
MATTER recently announced their selection as the Digital Health Hub of BARDA’s new Accelerator Network, and launched the accelerator under that umbrella, looking for solutions that will help the U.S. be more prepared and resilient in the face of public health threats. Through MTEC’s partnership with MATTER, all MTEC members also received complimentary access to their Flex membership, which includes an online repository of tools and knowledge to help healthcare entrepreneurs build their companies, as well as limited access to mentors.
Steven Collens, MATTER’s founder, and CEO, will discuss the new accelerator, including what kinds of companies should apply and what benefits they will get from participating in the program, as well as providing an update on the Flex membership benefit available to all MTEC members.
