Abstract
A portable suction pump unit for aspirating body fluids and/or air from a patient has a pump module housing for a pump module and a fluid collection container. The pump module housing has a pump-side suction connector, and the fluid collection container has a container-side suction connector for leaktight connection to the pump-side suction connector. The two suction connectors define a common axis. The fluid collection container can be secured on the pump module housing via a repeatedly releasable and restorable connection. This connection is releasable and/or restorable by means of a rotation movement of the fluid collection container relative to the pump module housing about said axis. The suction unit according to the invention is inexpensive to produce and permits an easily manageable connection between housing and container.
Core Innovation
The invention relates to a portable suction pump unit for aspirating body fluids, air or both body fluids and air from a patient. The unit includes a fluid collection container and a pump module housing for a pump module, where the pump module housing has a pump-side suction connector and the fluid collection container has a container-side suction connector for a leaktight connection to the pump-side suction connector, and the two suction connectors define a common axis.
The fluid collection container can be secured on the pump module housing via a repeatedly releasable and restorable connection. This connection is releasable and/or restorable by a rotation movement of the fluid collection container relative to the pump module housing about the common axis, and by the rotation movement the leaktight connection is established at the same time as fixation of the fluid collection container and the pump module housing.
The fixing elements are a hollow pin with an outer thread and a recess with an inner thread for receiving the pin, with the suction connectors arranged relative to the pin and recess. The fluid collection container and the pump module housing each have at least one locking element or abutment element to ensure exact positioning and a defined rotation as far as an abutment.
The locking/abutment structure includes guide grooves and guide blocks that curve along a circle of the same size, each having locking points that correspond in operative connection, with both circles having a center point lying on the axis.
Claims Coverage
The portable suction pump unit is defined in one independent claim focused on repeatedly releasable and restorable, rotation-based leaktight suction coupling with concurrent fixation and defined rotational positioning. The independent claim includes multiple core inventive features, and dependent claims further refine specific structural and spatial details.
Portable suction pump unit with common-axis leaktight suction connection
A portable suction pump unit for aspirating body fluids, air or both body fluids and air, comprising a fluid collection container and a pump module housing with a pump-side suction connector, wherein the fluid collection container has a container-side suction connector for leaktight connection to the pump-side suction connector, and the two suction connectors define a common axis.
Rotation-based repeatedly releasable and restorable connection establishing leaktight suction and fixation
The fluid collection container can be secured on the pump module housing via a repeatedly releasable and restorable connection, wherein the connection is releasable and/or restorable by means of a rotation movement of the fluid collection container relative to the pump module housing about said axis, and wherein by means of the rotation movement the leaktight connection is established at the same time as fixation of the fluid collection container and the pump module housing.
Hollow pin threaded fixation with recess and suction-connector arrangement
Fixing elements are a hollow pin with an outer thread and a recess with an inner thread for receiving the pin, with the suction connectors arranged relative to the pin and recess.
Locking and abutment elements defining exact positioning and defined rotation about the axis
The fluid collection container and the pump module housing each have at least one locking element or abutment element to ensure an exact positioning and a defined rotation of the fluid collection container relative to the pump module housing as far as an abutment.
Circularly curved guide grooves and guide blocks with corresponding locking points
The locking elements or abutment elements of one connection part include at least one guide groove that curves along a circle and has a first locking point at an end of the at least one guide groove, and the locking elements or abutment elements of the other connection part include at least one guide block that curves along a circle of the same size and has a second locking point at an end of the at least one guide block that corresponds to a position of the first locking point to engage in operative connection with the first locking point, wherein both circles have a center point that lies on the axis.
Overall, the claim set covers a portable suction pump unit where the container and pump module housing are repeatedly releasably connectable by rotation about a common axis, simultaneously establishing a leaktight suction connection and fixing the components in a defined rotational position. The claim set further specifies threaded hollow-pin/recess fixing and circular guide-groove/guide-block locking features with corresponding locking points sharing an axis.
Stated Advantages
Avoiding tilting movement of the container during releasable and restorable rotation-based connection.
Enabling easy release despite residual vacuum.
Reduced production cost.
Easier handling.
Documented Applications
A portable suction pump unit for aspirating body fluids, air or both body fluids and air from a patient.
