Abstract

The disclosure herein provides methods, systems, and devices for managing, transferring, modifying, converting and/or tracking medical files and/or medical system messages. In certain embodiments, the foregoing may generally be based on requesting medical files at a first medical facility, identifying the requested medical files at a second medical facility, initiating a secure network connection between the first and second medical facility, modifying a header portion of the medical files based on patient identification information created by the first medical facility, and other processing steps.

Core Innovation

The invention provides an electronic process implemented by a computer system that receives inputs for tracking medical informatics device components and maintains an input tracking database updated in real time. In response to instructions received via a personalized interactive user interface, the process provides access to one or more electronic medical data sources and transfers and routes medical data to one of a plurality of medical informatics devices located at a destination medical facility.

The process analyzes a medical data header to parse a source medical history code embedded in the header, and uses a standardized mapping table to dynamically translate the source medical history code to an intermediary code and further translate the intermediary code to a destination medical history code for use by the destination medical facility. It dynamically removes the source medical history code from the header and rewrites the destination medical history code into the header of the medical data.

The invention automatically scans electronic medical data sources at medical facilities to identify secondary medical data related to the medical data, with the secondary medical data comprising medical history data stored at a third facility. It also dynamically determines whether the format of the medical data and the format of the secondary medical data are compatible with the medical informatics devices, and causes automatic conversion into a format compatible with the medical informatics devices when incompatibility is determined.

The process receives updated tracking inputs associated with medical personnels, and when the updated inputs indicate that selected medical personnels are available, the computer system generates an e-mail message transmitted to the corresponding medical informatics devices. The e-mail message comprises a URL, and activation of the URL causes transfer of the medical data comprising the destination medical history code and the secondary medical data from the source medical facility and the third facility to the medical informatics devices associated with the selected medical personnels.

Claims Coverage

The independent claim set includes a single independent claim. It covers six inventive features: real-time component tracking, personalized interactive routing, personnel selection based on credentials and updated inputs, header parsing and standardized mapping table translation, secondary medical data discovery with compatibility conversion, and availability-triggered transfer via e-mail and URL.

Real-time medical informatics device component tracking inputs stored in an input tracking database

The process receives inputs for tracking the plurality of medical informatics device components, stores the inputs in an input tracking database, and updates the database in real time based on updated inputs.

Personalized interactive user interface with dynamically generated routing requests

The process causes a personalized interactive user interface to be displayed that allows users to select a medical data and one or more medical data review requests for routing the medical data to a destination medical data source, and the interface is dynamically generated based at least on available medical data accessible by the user.

Medical personnel selection based on credentials and updated inputs

The process determines a type of medical personnel for reviewing the medical data, determines medical personnels capable of reviewing and analyzing the medical data, accesses a credentials database, determines updated input of each medical informatics device component associated with each medical personnel, generates a service rating, and selects at least one medical personnel for review based on the service rating.

Header parsing and standardized mapping table translation of source medical history code to destination medical history code

The process automatically parses a source medical history code embedded in a header, accesses a standardized mapping table, translates the source medical history code to an intermediary code and then to a destination medical history code, removes the source medical history code from the header, and rewrites the destination medical history code into the header.

Secondary medical data discovery and compatibility determination with automatic conversion

The process scans electronic medical data sources at medical facilities to identify secondary medical data related to the medical data, where the secondary medical data is stored at a third facility and comprises medical history data, and determines whether the formats are compatible with the medical informatics devices, with incompatibility causing automatic conversion.

Availability-triggered e-mail with URL to transfer medical and secondary medical history data

When updated inputs indicate that selected medical personnels are available, the process generates an e-mail message transmitted to the corresponding medical informatics devices, the e-mail message comprises a URL, and activation of the URL causes transfer of the medical data including the destination medical history code and the secondary medical data to the medical informatics devices for display.

The inventive coverage combines real-time tracking of medical informatics device components, interactive selection and routing, automatic translation of medical procedure identifiers by parsing and rewriting a header using a standardized mapping table, format compatibility handling with automatic conversion, and availability-triggered transfer of medical data and secondary medical history data via e-mail and URL.
