Abstract
A brain stimulating system is provided. In some embodiments, the system includes a first electrode configured to supply a minute electric current to stimulate a brain, and a second electrode configured to detect at least one brain signal received from a brain, wherein the second electrode includes a blocking filter configured to block the minute electric current.
Core Innovation
The patent describes a brain stimulating system in which a first electrode supplies a minute electric current to stimulate a brain, wherein the minute electric current is a direct current (DC). A second electrode detects at least one brain signal received from the brain while including a blocking filter configured to block the minute electric current, and the blocking filter blocks the DC component corresponding to the minute electric current supplied by the first electrode while the at least one brain signal comprises a DC component and an alternating current (AC) component.
The system further defines detecting and stimulating structures and signal handling. A detecting element or second electrode comprises a blocking filter configured to block one or more components of the detected brain signals whose components have the same frequency value as one of one or more frequency values predetermined based on user input. The system also includes electrode configurations in which sub-electrodes at different brain areas generate separate brain signals that can be used for differential analysis, including extracting a third brain signal from a difference between the first brain signal and the second brain signal.
In addition, the patent describes system control architectures and noise-related output. A control unit can receive the brain signals and control the minute electric current delivered to the first electrode based on at least one brain signal. A first device analyzes a current status of a user, determines a range of a stimulation magnitude for the user, generates a second minute electric current corresponding to the determined range, and stimulates the brain. The detecting element includes an anti-phase noise output module configured to change a phase of noise vibration and output the changed noise vibration, and the system can include a server that manages data and analyzes brain signal states for a group of users to distribute stimulation control signals.
Claims Coverage
The patent includes three independent claims and each claim centers on using a blocking filter in connection with minute stimulation current while detecting brain signals. Across the independent claims, the inventive features include blocking the DC component corresponding to a DC stimulation current, blocking detected brain signal components at predetermined stimulation frequency values, and combining user-status-based stimulation magnitude determination with noise-phase modification in the detecting element.
Blocking the DC component corresponding to DC stimulation
A first electrode is configured to supply a minute electric current to stimulate a brain, wherein the minute electric current is a direct current (DC), and a second electrode is configured to detect at least one brain signal received from the brain, wherein the second electrode comprises a blocking filter configured to block the minute electric current, and the blocking filter is configured to block the DC component corresponding to the minute electric current supplied by the first electrode.
Blocking signal components at predetermined frequency values
A first electrode is configured to supply a minute electric current to stimulate a brain, wherein the minute electric current has one of one or more frequency values predetermined based on a user input, and a detecting element is configured to receive the at least one brain signal, wherein the detecting element comprises a blocking filter configured to block one or more components of the at least one brain signal having the same frequency value as one of the predetermined frequency values.
User-status-based stimulation magnitude determination with anti-phase noise output
A first device comprises a stimulating element configured to generate a first minute electric current to stimulate a brain and a detecting element configured to measure at least one brain signal received from the brain; and a second device comprises a control unit configured to receive data containing the at least one brain signal from the first device and manage the received data, wherein the first device analyzes a current status of a user, determines a range of a stimulation magnitude for the user, generates a second minute electric current corresponding to the determined range, and stimulates the brain by using the generated second minute electric current, and wherein the detecting element comprises a blocking filter configured to block the minute electric current and an anti-phase noise output module configured to change a phase of noise vibration and output the changed noise vibration.
Across the independent claims, the coverage is anchored in a detecting element that includes a blocking filter to prevent components of the detected brain signals corresponding to the minute electric current from interfering with detection. The claims further add frequency-based component blocking tied to user input, and in another variant, user-status-based determination of a stimulation magnitude range together with an anti-phase noise output module that changes a phase of noise vibration.
