Abstract
An implantable device for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal including an implantable electrode, a signal pickup configured to pick up an electrogram signal including a HF component, a signal filter connected to the signal pickup and configured to measure a HF component from the signal only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle, and an analyzer for analyzing the HF component, wherein the signal pickup, the signal filter and the analyzer are included within an implantable container, and the analyzer is configured to analyze at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component, and the signal filter is configured to measure the signal by using a signal picked up from at least one electrode selected from a group consisting of (a) intracardiac, (b) subcutaneous, (c) a can of the implanted device, (d) a combination of two of the above. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
Core Innovation
The invention relates to an implantable device for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal. The device includes an implantable electrode for use inside a living body, a signal pickup configured to pick up an electrogram signal comprising a high frequency (HF) component, and a signal filter that measures the HF component only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle.
The signal pickup, the signal filter, and the analyzer are comprised within an implantable container. The analyzer analyzes at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component of the electrogram signal, with the time-varying parameter being generated from the HF component measured only during the selected cardiac-cycle portion.
The invention also includes methods for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal by measuring the HF electrogram signal at high frequency only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle, generating an HF electrogram signal for that portion, and calculating at least one time-varying parameter of the generated HF electrogram signal. In addition, an implantable device and method are described that measure the HF component only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle, with the analyzer determining the specific breathing-cycle segment and analyzing at least one time-varying parameter.
Claims Coverage
The document contains four independent claims that define inventive features for device-based and method-based analysis of HF electrogram signals, using time-limited measurement windows tied to cardiac-cycle portions or breathing-cycle segments, and subsequent analysis of time-varying parameters.
Measuring an HF electrogram component only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle inside an implantable container
A device with an implantable electrode, a signal pickup, and a signal filter configured to measure a high frequency (HF) component from the electrogram signal only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle; and an analyzer for analyzing the HF component, where the signal pickup, the signal filter and the analyzer are comprised within an implantable container and the analyzer analyzes at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component.
Cardiac-cycle segment selection for measuring and calculating time-varying parameters in an HF electrogram method
A method that providing at least one electrogram signal from an electrode in a subject, measuring the electrogram signal at a high frequency only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle to generate an HF electrogram signal for that portion, and calculating at least one time-varying parameter of the generated HF electrogram signal.
Measuring an HF electrogram component only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle in an implantable container
An implantable device with an implantable electrode, a signal pickup, a measurement unit for measuring a high frequency (HF) component only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle, and an analyzer for analyzing the HF component, where the signal pickup, the measurement unit and the analyzer are comprised within an implantable container; the analyzer analyzes at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component and determines the specific segment of the breathing cycle.
Breathing-cycle segment-limited HF measurement with computer calculation of time-varying parameters
A method that provides at least one electrogram signal from an electrode in a subject, measures the electrogram signal at a high frequency only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle to generate an HF electrogram signal for that segment, and having a computer measure at least one time-varying parameter of the HF electrogram signal.
Across the independent claims, the core coverage is limited high-frequency measurement of an HF electrogram component using time windows defined by either specific portions of a cardiac cycle or specific segments of a breathing cycle, followed by analysis of at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component.
