Abstract
Provided are systems, methods, and devices for providing mediation of a traumatic brain injury. Systems may include an interface, processing devices, and a controller. The interface is configured to obtain measurements from a brain of a user with a traumatic brain injury. A first processing device is configured to generate multiple brain state parameters characterizing one or more features of a brain state of the user. A second processing device is configured to generate models of the brain of the user based on the plurality of brain state parameters and the plurality of measurements, and determine, using the models and training data comprising one or more mediation data points, a mediation procedure for reducing one or more symptoms of the traumatic brain injury. The mediation procedure is provided to one or more entities, and one or more control signals are generated by the controller based on the mediation procedure.
Core Innovation
The document describes a system in which one or more electrodes positioned on a user's scalp electrically stimulate the brain and an interface obtains a plurality of measurements from the brain using the same electrodes. A processing device generates a plurality of brain state parameters characterizing one or more features of at least one brain state of the user and trains a neural network to generate one or more models of the brain of the user using training data generated, at least in part, from one or more mediation data points, the brain state parameters, and the plurality of measurements.
The system determines a procedure for therapeutic mediation using at least the one or more models, where the procedure for mediation is configured to mitigate a therapeutic or cognitive condition or impairment. A controller generates one or more control signals to electrically stimulate the brain of the user to mitigate the cognitive condition or impairment, with the one or more control signals generated based on the procedure for mediation. The electrodes provide electrical stimuli to the brain based on the control signals.
The document further describes embodiments in which the controller-generated control signals drive electrical stimulation via an implanted embedded prosthetic device in the user. In addition, the processing device can generate diagnostic information from one or more models and transmit a notification message containing the diagnostic information to one or more entities.
Claims Coverage
The partial content includes three independent claims: a system claim, a method claim, and a non-transitory computer readable medium claim. Across these independent claims, the core coverage centers on scalp-electrode measurement acquisition, generation of brain state parameters, neural network training using mediation data points to produce brain models, determining a procedure for therapeutic mediation to mitigate a therapeutic or cognitive condition or impairment, and controller generation of control signals to electrically stimulate the brain based on the procedure for mediation.
Scalp electrode stimulation and measurement interface

Brain state parameters characterization and neural network model training
A processing device configured to generate a plurality of brain state parameters characterizing one or more features of at least one brain state of the user, and train a neural network to generate one or more models of the brain of the user, wherein the neural network is trained using training data generated, at least in part, from one or more mediation data points, the plurality of brain state parameters, and the plurality of measurements.
Therapeutic mediation procedure determination for mitigation
A procedure for therapeutic mediation is determined using at least the one or more models, the procedure for mediation configured to mitigate a therapeutic or cognitive condition or impairment.
Controller-generated control signals for electrical stimulation based on mediation procedure
A controller configured to generate one or more control signals to electrically stimulate the brain of the user to mitigate the cognitive condition or impairment, wherein the one or more control signals are generated based on the procedure for mediation, wherein the one or more electrodes provide electrical stimuli to the brain based on the control signals.
Scalp-electrode measurement-driven mediation method
A method comprising obtaining a plurality of measurements from a brain of a user, wherein the plurality of measurements are obtained by an interface with one or more electrodes positioned on a scalp of the user; generating, via a processing device, a plurality of brain state parameters characterizing one or more features of at least one brain state of the user; training, via the processing device, a neural network to generate one or more models of the brain of the user, wherein the neural network is trained using training data generated, at least in part, from one or more mediation data points, the plurality of brain state parameters, and the plurality of measurements; wherein a procedure for therapeutic mediation is determined using at least the one or more models, the procedure for mediation configured to mitigate a cognitive condition or impairment.
Procedure-based controller stimulation in the method
Generating, via a controller, one or more control signals to electrically stimulate the brain of the user to mitigate the cognitive condition or impairment, wherein the one or more control signals are generated based on the procedure for mediation; and electrically stimulating the brain, with the one or more electrodes, based on the one or more control signals.
Programs for mediation procedure determination and stimulation using scalp electrodes
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more programs configured for execution by a computer, the one or more programs comprising instructions for obtaining a plurality of measurements from a brain of a user via an interface with one or more electrodes positioned on a scalp of the user; generating a plurality of brain state parameters; training a neural network to generate one or more models using training data generated at least in part from one or more mediation data points, the plurality of brain state parameters, and the plurality of measurements; determining a procedure for therapeutic mediation configured to mitigate a cognitive condition or impairment; generating control signals based on the procedure for mediation; and electrically stimulating the brain, with the one or more electrodes, based on the one or more control signals.
