Abstract
A robotic interventional device control system includes an interventional device comprising a longitudinal axis and configured to rotate about the longitudinal axis; a controller configured to control rotational movement of the interventional device about the longitudinal axis; at least one sensor configured to detect rotational movement of the interventional device about the longitudinal axis; and one or more hardware processors configured to receive motion data from the at least one sensor, the motion data indicative of whether the interventional device is rotating. The one or more hardware processors are further configured to generate a user interface comprising an instrument window having a representation of the interventional device and an interventional device marker associated with the representation of the interventional device. The interventional device marker includes a radial progress indicator configured to provide a visual indication of a degree of rotation relative of the interventional device about the longitudinal axis.
Core Innovation
The robotic interventional device control system utilizes sensors to detect rotational movement of an interventional device about its longitudinal axis. Hardware processors receive motion data to generate a user interface comprising an instrument window with a device representation and an associated radial progress indicator showing rotation relative to a threshold. A controller directs axial movement along a drive table, causing the representation to transition between configurations along a central longitudinal axis.
The system provides graphical interface features including a ring-shaped progress bar reflecting full revolutions alongside marker animations responsive to aspiration or contrast-injection events. Mechanical drive couplings utilize splined shafts and pulleys to transmit rotation across a sterile barrier, while controllers support axial and rotational movement with configurable scaling and feedback alerts. The technical problem being solved is not explicitly described in the patent.
Claims Coverage
The patent claims identify nine independent claims covering nine inventive features directed to a robotic interventional device control system with rotational sensing, user interface indicators, and event-based marker animations.
Rotation display with axial device transition
Claim 1 recites an interventional device configured to rotate about its longitudinal axis, a sensor detecting rotational movement, hardware processors generating an instrument window with a radial progress indicator showing rotation relative to a threshold, and a controller directing axial movement along a drive table, wherein the device representation transitions between configurations along a central longitudinal axis during axial movement.
Maximum-rotation threshold
Claim 10 recites a sensor-based user interface displaying a device representation and a radial progress indicator that shows the degree of rotation relative to a threshold, wherein the threshold represents a maximum rotation of the interventional device.
Ring-shaped rotation progress bar
Claim 11 recites a radial progress indicator comprising a ring-shaped progress bar configured to remain empty when the interventional device is not rotating and become full when the device completes a full revolution about its longitudinal axis.
Device representation extending along a central longitudinal axis
Claim 12 recites a robotic interventional device control system with a device representation in an instrument window extending along a central longitudinal axis and an associated radial progress indicator showing rotation relative to a threshold.
Marker transition when aspiration is available
Claim 16 recites a marker with first and second animation states that transitions between states upon an interventional device event comprising aspiration being available at the interventional device.
Marker transition when aspiration is unavailable
Claim 17 recites a marker with first and second animation states that transitions between states upon an interventional device event comprising aspiration being unavailable at the interventional device.
Marker transition when aspiration is active
Claim 18 recites a marker with first and second animation states that transitions between states upon an interventional device event comprising aspiration being active at the interventional device.
Marker transition when contrast injection is available
Claim 19 recites a marker with first and second animation states that transitions between states upon an interventional device event comprising contrast injection being available at the interventional device.
Marker transition when contrast injection is unavailable
Claim 20 recites a marker with first and second animation states that transitions between states upon an interventional device event comprising contrast injection being unavailable at the interventional device.
All elements of the claim across the independent claims encompass rotational sensing and user-interface representations with radial progress indication, with specific claims further defining axial configuration transitions, full-revolution or maximum-rotation thresholds, and aspiration or contrast-injection marker states.
