Abstract

Provided are systems and methods for capturing outcome information associated with various cancer treatments. The system facilitates capture and analysis of cancer treatment information and associated outcome information. The treatment and outcome information can include genomic analysis and information on treatment of different cancers. The system can store and analyze any one or more of: tumor type, genomic alterations (e.g., genes and associated alterations, gene sequence mutations, alterations, amplifications, deletions, etc.), and treatment data (including, for example, treatments targeted to specific genes and/or genomic alterations). Users of the outcome system can supply and use the treatment and outcome information to facilitate diagnosis and therapy decisions. User interfaces within the system can be configured to allow users to easily locate outcome information associated with particular treatments of tumors having certain genomic alterations.

Core Innovation

An electronic device receives genomic testing results comprising first and second genomic alterations of a patient, identifies a respective set of actionable information for each alteration, and displays corresponding data structures in a patient-associated user interface. The data structures are automatically ranked based on an actionability metric. Responsive to a user selection of a data structure, the user interface transitions to a second area displaying extendable drawers corresponding to the sets of actionable information.

The system organizes actionable information into therapy, clinical trial, genomic interpretation, and reference categories, concurrently presenting clinical-trial details directly within the interface. The electronic device also parses information received from multiple databases to automatically generate interpreted statements. The interface further provides category-specific update timelines, disease-response timelines, and similar-patient treatment data, distinguishing therapies approved for the patient's tumor type from drugs approved for other tumor types.

Claims Coverage

The claims identify one independent claim comprising four principal inventive features directed to processing genomic testing results and displaying ranked actionable information.

Identification and ranking of actionable information

The electronic device receives genomic testing results comprising first and second genomic alterations of a patient, identifies a respective set of actionable information for each alteration, and displays corresponding data structures automatically ranked based on an actionability metric.

Selection-based transition to extendable drawers

In response to a user selection on a ranked data structure, the user interface transitions to a display of a second area comprising a plurality of extendable drawers corresponding to sets of actionable information, including therapy, clinical trial, genomic interpretation, and reference categories.

In-interface presentation of clinical-trial details

An extendable drawer concurrently presents clinical-trial details, including an identifier, rationale, description, geographic location, or target, without requiring the user to leave the user interface.

Actionability hierarchy and database-derived interpreted statements

The actionability metric assigns the highest level of actionability to therapy information, and the device receives and parses alteration-related information from multiple databases to automatically generate interpreted statements.

The claim covers receiving genomic testing results, identifying and automatically ranking actionable information for multiple alterations, transitioning to extendable drawers upon user selection, and presenting clinical-trial details and database-generated statements within the interface.

Stated Advantages

Not explicitly described in patent.

Documented Applications

A patient-facing cancer knowledge portal and user interface for presenting genomic testing results and alteration-associated actionable information, including knowledge-base pages, clinical-trial indexes and summaries, anonymized case studies, community profiles with search filters, and therapeutic implications distinguishing therapies approved for the patient's tumor type from drugs approved for other tumor types.

A patient-report interface and database system for collecting treatment and outcome updates, recording therapies and response status, displaying category-specific update timelines and patient disease-response timelines, and summarizing outcome data and similar-patient treatment information across patients.
