Abstract
A rice cultivar designated CLM05 is disclosed herein. The present invention provides seeds, plants, and plant parts derived from rice cultivar CLM05. Further, it provides methods for producing a rice plant by crossing CLM05 with itself or another rice variety. The invention also encompasses any rice seeds, plants, and plant parts produced by the methods disclosed herein, including those in which additional traits have been transferred into CLM05 through the introduction of a transgene or by breeding CLM05 with another rice cultivar.
Core Innovation
The disclosed subject matter is a rice cultivar designated as CLM05 of the species Oryza sativa. The cultivar is described as a high-yielding, early-maturing, semi-dwarf Clearfield® medium-grain rice cultivar that carries resistance or tolerance to AHAS-inhibiting herbicides.
The resistance or tolerance to AHAS-inhibiting herbicides is associated with an acetolactate synthase locus mutation. The herbicides referenced include imidazolinones and NEWPATH®, and additional named AHAS-inhibiting herbicide chemistries are included in the description.
The disclosure also addresses breeding and production of CLM05-derived seeds, including development from a specific parental cross and performance evaluation across multiple locations. Results described include grain yield and milling and quality metrics, along with lodging and disease reaction information for multiple listed rice diseases.

Documented Applications
Weed control in the vicinity of a rice plant carrying CLM05 seed, using AHAS-inhibiting herbicide applied pre-emergence and/or post-emergence, and optionally as seed treatment.
Breeding and production of CLM05-derived seeds/plants using selfing, backcrossing, and hybrid crosses, including introduction of additional traits by transgene transformation or breeding with progeny determination using markers or trait similarity.
Comparative performance evaluation of CLM05 across multiple locations, including grain yield, milling, quality, lodging, and disease reaction measurements.
Provides a seed deposit of CLM05 described with NCMA accession information.
