Abstract
In some implementations, documents can be presented on a display of a computing device based on a context of the computing device. The context can include a current time and/or current location associated with the computing device. The documents can be presented based on a time and/or location associated with the documents. Documents can be downloaded and shared between devices. Documents can be dynamically updated based on document vendor provided information and/or other network based resources. In some implementations, the various graphical interfaces described herein provide access to a variety of document types in an organized and efficient manner.
Core Innovation
The document management user interface displays a first representation of a first document and a second representation of a second document, where each representation is displayed in a first state while the representations are displayed stacked together in a stack of representations of documents. In the first state, only a first portion of each representation is displayed without displaying a second portion, and the first portion includes first information associated with the corresponding document. The first representation of the first document and the second representation of the second document are displayed in an overlapped arrangement such that a top portion of the first representation and a top portion of the second representation are visible.
While the first representation of the first document is displayed in the first state, an input directed to the first representation is received via one or more input devices. In response to receiving the input, the first representation of the first document is displayed in a second state different from the first state, including making second information associated with the first document available for wireless communication to a second electronic device. While the first representation is displayed in the second state, the first portion and the second portion of the first representation of the first document are displayed in the document management user interface.
Before receiving the input, the first representation and the second representation are displayed together in the stack of representations of documents in the overlapped arrangement. In response to receiving the input, an animation is displayed in which the first representation is moved up and out of the stack, and the stack is moved down in the document management user interface to emphasize the selected representation. After displaying the animation, the first representation in the second state is concurrently displayed with the stack and outside of the stack, and not inside the stack of representations of documents.
Claims Coverage
The partial content includes three independent claims: a method claim, a non-transitory computer readable storage medium claim, and an electronic device claim. Across these independent claims, the inventive features repeat around an overlapped stacked document-management user interface with a first state/second state transition, portioned information display, and wireless communication of information associated with a selected document, including animation moving a selected representation out of the stack.
Stacked overlapped document representations with first and second states
Displaying a document management user interface that includes a first representation of a first document and a second representation of a second document, where each representation is displayed in a first state, the representations are displayed in a stack with an overlapped arrangement, and in response to receiving an input directed to the first representation the first representation is displayed in a second state different from the first.
Portion-based display of document information in first state
While the first representation of the first document is displayed in the first state, displaying a first portion of the first representation without displaying a second portion of the first representation, where the first portion includes first information associated with the first document; similarly for the second representation of the second document in the first state.
Input-driven transition with display of full representation portions and wireless communication
While displaying the document management user interface, receiving an input directed to the first representation and, in response, displaying the first representation in the second state including making second information associated with the first document available for wireless communication to a second electronic device, wherein while the first representation is displayed in the second state the first portion and the second portion are displayed in the document management user interface.
Animated movement of selected document representation out of the stack
Before receiving the input, displaying the first and second representations together in the stack in the overlapped arrangement with top portions visible; in response to receiving the input, displaying an animation in which the first representation is moved up and out of the stack and the stack is moved down, and after the animation concurrently displaying the first representation in the second state with the stack while outside of the stack and not inside the stack of representations of documents.
The independent claims collectively cover a document management user interface that stacks and overlaps document representations, shows document information as first and second portions in a first state, transitions a selected document representation to a second state upon input, displays both portions, makes associated information available for wireless communication to a second electronic device, and animates the selected representation moving out of the stack.
