Abstract
A medical device for the measurement of brain temperature data through the Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) is described. Brain temperature measurement is the key and universal indicator of both disease and health equally, and is the only vital sign that cannot be artificially changed by emotional states. Currently, brain temperature is difficult to measure. However, the present disclosure describes a device that readily locates the Abreu brain thermal tunnel, and is configured to provide a non-contact temperature reading of the brain. Embodiments of the disclosed device enable an individual to measure their own temperature and enable medical professionals to measure the temperature of others.
Core Innovation
A method is described for measuring a temperature of a brain by way of an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT). A sensor is positioned toward a terminus of the ABTT of a subject, where the terminus is located between an eye and an eyebrow of the subject, with a handle attached to a housing on which the sensor is mounted. The sensor measures a temperature of the ABTT terminus, producing a signal corresponding to the measured temperature and reporting a temperature produced by the signal.
The method further includes displaying an advertisement and a message informing the subject that a measurement is being performed. The measurement is displayed on a display attached to and protruding from the housing, such that the display is projected into the line of sight of a user and is spaced further from the user than the sensor. The approach includes embodiments where the sensor is oriented by rotating the sensor about an axis perpendicular to the vertical and relative to the housing to select an angle.
In additional embodiments, field of view at the terminus is compensated for data not originating from that terminus, where the field of view includes the terminus and a surrounding area. Further, an indication is displayed to seek medical advice when a predetermined temperature is exceeded. The disclosed use is extended beyond temperature measurement to using the ABTT to measure a biological parameter associated with a human body containing multiple chemical compounds, including measuring one or more chemical compounds at the ABTT terminus using a spectroscope.
Claims Coverage
The independent claim clm-00001 covers 8 inventive features centered on ABTT-based brain temperature measurement using a sensor positioned toward an ABTT terminus between the eye and eyebrow, with a line-of-sight projected advertisement/measurement display and temperature reporting via a signal corresponding to the measured terminus temperature. Additional independent claim coverage is not explicitly stated in the provided partial content.
ABTT terminus positioning between eye and eyebrow
Positioning a sensor configured to measure a temperature of an ABTT toward a terminus of the ABTT of the subject located between an eye and an eyebrow of the subject with a handle attached to a housing on which the sensor is mounted.
Advertisement and measurement display projected into line of sight
Displaying an advertisement and a message informing the subject that a measurement is being performed on a display attached to and protrudes from the housing such that the display is projected into the line of sight of a user and spaced further from the user than the sensor.
Signal production from ABTT terminus temperature measurement
Measuring a temperature of the terminus of the ABTT with the sensor; producing a signal corresponding to the measured temperature from the sensor; and reporting a temperature produced by the signal.
Sensor orientation by rotation about axis relative to housing
Orienting a sensor for collecting emissions from the terminus of the ABTT by rotating the sensor about an axis perpendicular to the vertical and relative to a housing to select an angle.
Medical advice indication when predetermined temperature is exceeded
Displaying an indication to seek medical advice when a predetermined temperature is exceeded.
Field-of-view compensation using surrounding area
Compensating a field of view at the terminus of the ABTT for data not originating from that terminus, where the field of view includes the terminus and a surrounding area.
ABTT measurement of biological parameter using chemical compounds
Using an ABTT to measure a biological parameter associated with a human body containing multiple chemical compounds.
Spectroscope measurement of chemical compounds at ABTT terminus
Measuring one or more chemical compounds at the terminus of the ABTT using a spectroscope.
Overall, the claim coverage centers on ABTT-based brain temperature measurement using a sensor positioned toward an ABTT terminus between the eye and eyebrow, with a line-of-sight projected advertisement/measurement display, and temperature reporting via a signal corresponding to the measured terminus temperature. Dependent refinements add sensor orientation, medical-advice messaging based on a predetermined temperature, field-of-view compensation, and extension from temperature to biological parameter characterization using chemical compounds with a spectroscope.
