Abstract

Technologies are provided for composition and presentation of an interactive electronic document. Some embodiments include a computing device. The computing device includes at least one processor that executes computer-executable components stored in at least one memory device. The computer-executable components can include a runtime component configured to apply a navigation rule corresponding to a navigation mode for a series of views, where at least one view in the series of views can include a respective prompt. The compute-executable components also can include a coordination component configured to cause presentation of at least one view of the series of views in response to the runtime component applying the navigation rule.

Core Innovation

The invention relates to composing and presenting an interactive electronic document by generating, within a data repository, a definition configuration file, one or more natural language translation configuration files, and one or more layout configuration files. For each interactive electronic document, the system receives first input data defining the definition configuration file, second input data defining natural language translation configuration files, and third input data defining layout configuration files, and generates these corresponding configuration files within the data repository.

The system then generates, within the data repository, a configuration package comprising the definition configuration file, a particular natural language translation configuration file, and a particular layout configuration file. In response to a request specifying a particular combination including an interactive electronic document, natural language, a type of device, and display resolution, the system determines that a second configuration package satisfies the request by including a matching definition configuration file, one or more second natural language translation configuration files, and one or more second layout configuration files.

The system generates a deliverable configuration package by extracting, from the second configuration package, a particular definition configuration file, a selected natural language translation configuration file that matches the natural language, and a selected layout configuration file that matches the type of device and display resolution. The system determines relationships among configuration files by analyzing layout configuration file indicators associated with the type of device language and display resolution, and then following references from a particular layout configuration file to a natural language translation configuration file, and from that translation configuration file to a definition configuration file.

Additionally, the system incorporates a unique identifier into a generated definition configuration file and can use third input data to define a version of a runtime bundle for use with the configuration package that includes one or more layout configuration files.

Claims Coverage

The independent claims cover a computer-implemented method, a computing device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that generate an interactive electronic document configuration package by composing separate definition, natural language translation, and layout configuration files. The inventive features center on repository-based generation of configuration files and creation of a configuration package comprising one particular file from each category, with nine inventive features identified across the claim set.

Repository generation of definition, translation, and layout configuration files

receiving first input data defining a definition configuration file corresponding to an interactive electronic document; generating, using the first input data, the definition configuration file within a data repository; receiving second input data defining one or more natural language translation configuration files corresponding to the interactive electronic document; generating, using the second input data, the one or more natural language translation configuration files within the data repository; receiving third input data defining one or more layout configuration files corresponding to the interactive electronic document; generating, using the third input data, the one or more layout configuration files within the data repository

Configuration package comprising one particular file from each configuration category

generating, within the data repository, a configuration package comprising the definition configuration file, a particular natural language translation configuration file of the one or more natural language translation configuration files, and a particular layout configuration file of the one or more layout configuration files

Request-driven selection of a particular configuration package based on natural language, device type, and display resolution

receiving a request specifying an interactive electronic document and a natural language, the type of device, and the display resolution; determining that a second configuration package in the data repository satisfies the request by including a matching definition configuration file, one or more second natural language translation configuration files, and one or more second layout configuration files

Extracting a deliverable configuration package by matching natural language and device/display layout

generating a deliverable configuration package from a second configuration package by extracting a particular definition configuration file along with a selected natural language translation configuration file and a selected layout configuration file, where the translation file matches a specified natural language and the layout file matches a specified device type and display resolution

Following references from a device-and-display-specific layout configuration file to translation and definition configuration files

extracting linked configuration file references by identifying a device-specific layout configuration file via device-type language and display resolution, then following references from the layout configuration file to a natural language translation configuration file and from that file to a definition configuration file

Runtime bundle version definition for use with layout-containing configuration packages

using third input data to define a version of a runtime bundle for use with a configuration package that includes one or more layout configuration files

Integrity tests applied to layout configuration files based on user-interface library versions

applying one or more integrity tests to layout configuration files using one or more versions of a user-interface library that correspond to the version of the runtime bundle

Embedding a unique identifier into generated definition configuration files

generating a unique identifier and incorporating it into a definition configuration file as part of generating the file using the first input data

Overall, the independent claims focus on generating definition, natural-language translation, and layout configuration files within a data repository and creating a configuration package that includes a particular file from each category. Dependent claim coverage emphasizes request-driven selection using natural language, device type, and display resolution, reference-chained extraction from a selected layout configuration file to translation and definition files, and additional refinements including runtime bundle versioning, integrity testing of layout configuration files, and incorporating a unique identifier into generated definition configuration files.
