Abstract

The described apparatuses, devices, and mechanisms are configured to measure the temperature of one or more Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminuses. In addition, some embodiments are configured to provide treatment for the diagnosed conditions and diseases.

Core Innovation

The apparatus for thermal treatment of a brain continuously measures an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminus temperature, where the ABTT terminus is located between an eyebrow and an eye on a human body. The temperature sensor positioned on the apparatus continuously transmits a signal representative of the temperature at the ABTT terminus. A processor receives the signal to determine a condition of the brain that requires a temperature modification of the brain through way of only the ABTT.

The processor transmits a control signal while simultaneously continuously transmitting the signal representative of the ABTT terminus temperature. A temperature modification device connected to the apparatus is positioned to apply heat and remove heat from a portion of the human body in a location other than that of the ABTT terminus. Heat and removal of heat are applied in an alternating fashion until the measured temperature of the ABTT terminus reaches a desired value, using a plurality of cycles in which maximum heating and maximum removal of heat change with each cycle.

The temperature modification device receives the control signal to apply heat and remove heat from the brain for the plurality of cycles until the measured temperature of the ABTT terminus reaches the desired value as needed. The apparatus further includes a lens positioned on the apparatus in a location in front of an eye, where the lens includes a notch and the temperature sensor is positioned in the notch to interface with the ABTT terminus.

Claims Coverage

The independent claim identified is clm-00001. The independent claim’s coverage centers on continuous ABTT-terminus temperature sensing, processor-based determination using only the ABTT, and alternating heat/removal cycles applied at a different body location than the ABTT terminus, with a lens/notch interface for sensor placement.

Continuous ABTT terminus temperature measurement and signaling

A temperature sensor positioned on the apparatus and positioned and configured to continuously measure an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminus temperature, located between an eyebrow and an eye on a human body, configured to continuously transmit a signal representative of the temperature at the ABTT terminus.

Processor determines ABTT-based brain condition and issues control signal during continuous operation

A processor positioned on the apparatus, configured to receive the signal, to determine from the signal a condition of the brain that requires a temperature modification of the brain through way of only the ABTT, and to transmit a control signal simultaneously with the continuous measuring of the temperature of the ABTT and simultaneously with the continuous transmitting of the signal representative of the temperature of the ABTT terminus.

Alternating heat and remove heat cycles applied at a location other than the ABTT terminus

A temperature modification device connected to the apparatus positioned to apply heat and remove heat from a portion of the human body in a location other than that of the ABTT terminus, including utilizing alternating application of heat and removal of heat in a plurality of cycles until the measured temperature of the ABTT terminus reaches a desired value, with the plurality of cycles including maximum heating and maximum removal of heat changing with each cycle, and applying heat and remove heat from the brain by way of the portion of the human body other than that of the ABTT terminus in response to the control signal.

Lens with notch positions the temperature sensor to interface with the ABTT terminus

A lens positioned on the apparatus in a location in front of an eye, the lens including a notch and the temperature sensor positioned in the notch to interface with the ABTT terminus.

Claim clm-00001 provides an apparatus framework combining continuous ABTT terminus temperature sensing, ABTT-only determination of a brain condition requiring temperature modification, alternating heat/remove-heat cycles applied at a location other than the ABTT terminus in response to a control signal, and a lens/notch interface that positions the temperature sensor to interface with the ABTT terminus.
