Abstract
A method for assisting a patient in physical rehabilitation, the method being executed by a controller, and the controller being configurable with at least one physical rehabilitation strategy and being communicatively connected with a respiratory device and an exercise device. The method includes controlling at least one of a device setting of the respiratory device and a device setting of the exercise device, based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy among the at least one physical rehabilitation strategy.
Core Innovation
The disclosed subject matter relates to assisting a patient in physical rehabilitation by executing a method with a controller configurable with at least one physical rehabilitation strategy. The controller is communicatively connected with a respiratory device, and the method controls a device setting of the respiratory device based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy among the at least one physical rehabilitation strategy.
The method outputs a reminder signal at a start time of the physical rehabilitation, and the start time is comprised in the target physical rehabilitation strategy. The reminder signal is used to remind the patient that it is time for physical rehabilitation, thereby tying respiratory device control and patient start-time prompting to a selected target strategy.
Further disclosed functionality includes receiving physiological parameter information and modifying respiratory and exercise device behavior according to preset thresholds. The method adjusts the respiratory device setting using heart rate and/or SpO2 relative to preset limits, including outputting an alarm signal when SpO2 drops below a second preset threshold, and links control of the respiratory device setting to modifying an exercise device setting to reduce exercise intensity when the respiratory device setting exceeds a third preset threshold.
Additional functionality includes user-based strategy selection, guidance output, and patient imaging for remote monitoring. A system includes output of exercise guidance via a display screen and/or speaker based on the target physical rehabilitation strategy, and receives an image of the patient from a camera connected to the controller and transmits the patient image to a remote terminal.
Claims Coverage
The independent claims cover a method, a controller, and a system for assisting physical rehabilitation. Across the independent claims, the main inventive features are controlling a respiratory device setting based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy and outputting a reminder signal at a start time comprised in the target physical rehabilitation strategy.
Strategy-based respiratory device setting control
Control a device setting of the respiratory device, based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy among the at least one physical rehabilitation strategy.
Strategy-defined start-time reminder signal
Output a reminder signal at a start time of the physical rehabilitation, wherein the start time is comprised in the target physical rehabilitation strategy, and the reminder signal is used to remind the patient that it is time for physical rehabilitation.
Processor and memory configured to control respiratory device setting and output reminder
At least one processor and a memory communicatively connected with the at least one processor, with instructions that cause the at least one processor to control a device setting of the respiratory device based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy, and output a reminder signal at a start time comprised in the target physical rehabilitation strategy.
System configuration with controller and respiratory device plus reminder output
A system for assisting a patient in physical rehabilitation comprising a controller configurable with at least one physical rehabilitation strategy and communicatively connected with a respiratory device, with instructions that cause control of a device setting of the respiratory device based on a target physical rehabilitation strategy and output of a reminder signal at a start time comprised in the target physical rehabilitation strategy.
Overall, the claim coverage centers on tying respiratory device setting control and patient reminder signaling to a target physical rehabilitation strategy and its strategy-defined start time. Dependent claim refinements further add physiological-parameter-based adjustments, alarm signaling, exercise-device intensity reduction, exercise guidance output, and patient image capture/transmission to a remote terminal.
