Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed for displaying cardiac signals based on a signal pattern. An embodiment operates by accessing an input cardiac signal. The embodiment matches a portion of the input cardiac signal to a known signal pattern. The embodiment then displays an indication of a degree of the match.

Core Innovation

The invention relates to an EP monitoring system and a computer implemented method for cardiac electrophysiology in which a first input cardiac signal is accessed using an electrode attached to a patient. A user detection threshold is received at a user interface, and a reference point is established inside a previously stored known signal pattern that specifies a voltage variation over time and defines a morphology correlated with a disease. A first portion of the first input cardiac signal is matched to the previously stored known signal pattern based on the detection threshold.

In response to the first matching, the first portion of the first input cardiac signal is displayed on one or more displays side by side with a first portion of a second input cardiac signal, where the first portion of the second input cardiac signal occurs before, after, or simultaneously with the established reference point inside the matched previously stored known signal pattern. A second portion of the first input cardiac signal is then matched to the previously stored known signal pattern based on the detection threshold, and the size of the second portion is received from the user at the user interface.

In response to the second matching, displaying is triggered so that the second portion of the first input cardiac signal is displayed side by side with a second portion of the second input cardiac signal, where the second portion of the second input cardiac signal contains the established reference point inside the matched previously stored known signal pattern. The second portions and corresponding displayed portions are displayed vertically stacked above or below the displayed first portion of the first input cardiac signal and the displayed first portion of the second input cardiac signal on the user interface over the one or more displays.

Claims Coverage

The partial set includes two independent claims. Both independently claim user-driven matching of input cardiac signal portions to a previously stored known signal pattern correlated with a disease, followed by side-by-side display with a second input cardiac signal and vertically stacked presentation when a reference point is contained in the matched portion.

Detection threshold driven morphology pattern matching with reference point

Access a first input cardiac signal using an electrode attached to a patient; receive from a user at a user interface a detection threshold; establish at the user interface by the user a reference point inside a previously stored known signal pattern, where the previously stored known signal pattern specifies a voltage variation over time that defines a morphology correlated with a disease; match a first portion of the first input cardiac signal to the previously stored known signal pattern based on the detection threshold.

Side-by-side display relative to the established reference point

In response to the first matching, display on the user interface over one or more displays the first portion of the first input cardiac signal side by side with a first portion of a second input cardiac signal, wherein the first portion of the second input cardiac signal occurs before, after, or simultaneously with the established reference point inside the matched previously stored known signal pattern.

User-sized second portion matching and triggered side-by-side display

Match a second portion of the first input cardiac signal to the previously stored known signal pattern based on the detection threshold, wherein a size of the second portion of the first input cardiac signal is received from the user at the user interface; trigger displaying on the user interface over the one or more displays the second portion of the first input cardiac signal side by side with a second portion of the second input cardiac signal in response to the second matching, wherein the second portion of the second input cardiac signal contains the established reference point inside the matched previously stored known signal pattern.

Vertical stacking of matched displayed portions on the user interface

Display the second portion of the first input cardiac signal and the second portion of the second input cardiac signal vertically stacked above or below the displayed first portion of the first input cardiac signal and the displayed first portion of the second input cardiac signal on the user interface over the one or more displays.

The inventive coverage centers on user-driven morphology matching of cardiac signal portions to a previously stored known signal pattern correlated with a disease, using a detection threshold and a user-established reference point, followed by side-by-side visualization with a second input cardiac signal and vertical stacking when the matched second portion contains the established reference point.
