Abstract

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices for determining a baseline for an individual. The methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices may include a first memory device for computer storage. The methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices may include a processing device coupled to the first memory device, where the processing device is configured to: receive profile information for a user; generate a user profile based on the profile information; query a set of baseline profiles stored at the first memory device or a second memory device to identify a subset of baseline profiles; aggregate baseline profile information from the first baseline profile and baseline profile information from the second baseline profile to obtain an aggregated baseline profile; and set a baseline for a physiological parameter of the user from which to measure against for the physiological parameter, wherein the baseline is based on the physiological parameter of the aggregated baseline profile.

Core Innovation

The invention concerns a system in which wearable user measurement devices generate first and second physiological data of a user during a first time period using a first sensor and a second sensor. A processing device receives the first physiological data and the second physiological data, determines a first correlation and a second correlation between the physiological data and a first physiological parameter, and makes a first prediction of a change in the first physiological parameter from a first level to a second level for a second time period based on one or more of the first and second correlations.

The system optionally determines whether first environmental data is available and, in response to the environmental data being available, receives the first environmental data including an environmental parameter. The processing device determines a third correlation between the first environmental data and the first physiological parameter and makes a second prediction of the change in the first physiological parameter according to combinations of the first, second, and third correlations.

The system further includes correlation-level gating based on whether correlation levels meet or exceed corresponding threshold correlation levels. If a correlation level is below its threshold correlation level, the processing device is configured to make predictions without the corresponding correlation. In addition, the document describes baselining in which user profiles are generated from received profile information, baseline profiles of similar users are retrieved, and a physiological baseline is set from an aggregated most-similar baseline profile.

The document also describes system-level components and use of correlations and baselines to support alerting and visualization, including correlator, baseliner, and alerter modules and a GUI that presents hydration trending/indexing and team-level views. Cross-user reuse or mirroring of predictions is described when baselines are within a threshold of each other, and environment matching is described so that a prediction can be generated for another user when second environmental data exists and matches first environmental data.

Claims Coverage

Independent claims cover a device and a system that use two physiological sensors to correlate respective physiological data with a physiological parameter and to predict a change in the physiological parameter for a subsequent or future time period. The claims further cover optional environmental-data incorporation via an environmental parameter and the use of threshold correlation levels to omit certain correlations when their correlation levels fall below corresponding thresholds, plus mitigation-action determination and prediction output refinements.

Dual physiological sensor correlations for physiological parameter change prediction

A system/device having a first sensor and a second sensor for generating first and second physiological data, determining a first correlation and a second correlation between the physiological data and a physiological parameter, and making a prediction of a change in a level of the physiological parameter based on the first correlation, the second correlation, or a combination, for a second time period after a first time period.

Environmental parameter correlation and combined prediction

Receiving environmental data of an environment of the user including an environmental parameter, determining a third correlation between the environmental data and the physiological parameter, and making a second prediction of the change in the level of the physiological parameter according to combinations that include the third correlation.

Threshold correlation level gating for prediction without selected correlations

Determining whether correlation levels for the first, second, and/or third correlation meet or exceed corresponding threshold correlation levels and, in response to a correlation level being below a threshold, making the prediction without the correlation corresponding to that correlation level.

Mitigating action determination based on predicted physiological parameter change

Predicting a change in a level of the physiological parameter according to a determined correlation or correlations and determining a mitigating action for the user to perform to prevent or minimize the change.

User notification recommending a mitigation action

Generating a notification based on a prediction, where the notification includes an action recommended to the user to prevent either of two predictions from occurring during a specified second time period.

Cross-user prediction mirroring using baseline within threshold

Receiving baseline values for a physiological parameter for two users, comparing the users’ baselines, and generating a prediction for a second user that matches a first prediction when the first baseline is within a threshold amount of the second baseline.

Environment-matched prediction replication for a second user

Receiving a second prediction for a second user, checking for second environmental data, comparing the second environmental data to first environmental data, and generating a fourth prediction for the second user that matches the second prediction when the second environmental data exists and matches the first environmental data.

Across the independent claims, the inventive coverage centers on correlating two physiological data streams to a physiological parameter and predicting a subsequent or future change, optionally incorporating an environmental parameter via a third correlation, gating which correlations participate using threshold correlation levels, and determining mitigating actions and notifications. Additional coverage includes cross-user prediction mirroring using baseline thresholds and environment matching conditions to replicate predictions.
