Abstract
Head wearable devices and methods are disclosed where a head wearable device includes a headpiece including a headband and an occipital basket attached to the headband, and a first housing attached to the headband. A depth adjuster is attached to the first housing and configured to change, by controlling a distance between the occipital basket and the first housing, a depth of the headpiece. A second housing is attached to the occipital basket, and a headband adjuster is attached to the occipital basket to change a circumference of the headpiece by controlling a distance between respective opposing ends of the headband and the second housing.
Core Innovation
The document describes a head wearable device for an LED surgical head wearable. The device includes a headpiece with a headband and an occipital basket attached to the headband, where the headpiece further includes a first housing attached to the headband and a depth adjuster attached to the first housing. The depth adjuster is configured to change, by controlling a distance between the occipital basket and the first housing, a depth of the headpiece.
The headpiece also includes a second housing attached to the occipital basket. A headband adjuster is attached to the occipital basket and configured to change a circumference of the headpiece by controlling a distance between respective opposing ends of the headband and the second housing. The document further refines adjustment by controlling fit-related distances using the housings and adjusters.
The document describes a fitment and comfort system integrated with the headpiece. Padding is provided with multi-layer cushioning materials and placement intended to avoid covering cranial sutures, and the occipital basket includes a notch or recess intended to prevent hair or cap interference. The document also describes an adjustment method for changing headpiece depth and circumference by attaching the housings and controlling the distances using the depth adjuster and the headband adjuster.
Claims Coverage
The independent claims are clm-00001 and clm-00011. Across these independent claims, there are two main inventive feature sets: (i) a depth adjuster that changes headpiece depth by controlling a distance between the occipital basket and a first housing, and (ii) a headband adjuster that changes headpiece circumference by controlling a distance between opposing ends of the headband and a second housing.
Headpiece depth adjustment by controlling distance between occipital basket and first housing
A depth adjuster attached to the first housing is configured to change, by controlling a distance between the occipital basket and the first housing, a depth of the headpiece.
Headpiece circumference adjustment by controlling distance between opposing ends of headband and second housing
A headband adjuster attached to the occipital basket is configured to change a circumference of the headpiece by controlling a distance between respective opposing ends of the headband and the second housing.
Adjusting headpiece depth and circumference by controlling distances via attached housings and adjusters
A method of adjusting a headpiece includes attaching a first housing to the headband and attaching a depth adjuster to the first housing, controlling a distance between the occipital basket and the first housing to adjust a depth of the headpiece, attaching a second housing to the occipital basket, and controlling a distance between respective opposing ends of the headband and the second housing to adjust a circumference of the headpiece.
The independent claims collectively cover a headpiece adjustment architecture in which headpiece depth and circumference are independently adjusted by controlling distances using a depth adjuster associated with a first housing and a headband adjuster associated with a second housing.
