Abstract

A system and method electronically manages sleep related data obtained by a diagnostic device. The system and method may include collecting sleep data from a patient using a diagnostic device. The sleep data may be stored in a sleep data file and delineated as multiple sleep sessions. A user may access the stored sleep data by selecting a particular sleep session. The sleep data for the selected sleep session may then be extracted from the sleep data file and presented to the user as a combination of image tiles, JavaScript elements, and an event indicator.

Core Innovation

The invention provides an electronic management method for sleep related information obtained by a sleep related measurement device. Sleep data comprising data from a plurality of sensors is received and stored so as to associate the sleep data with a plurality of sleep sessions, and a user is enabled to select for download a selected sleep session.

The method generates a plurality of image tiles corresponding to the sleep data of the selected sleep session. It also generates at least one script element indicative of a diagnostic event associated with the sleep data, and the script element is displayed in association with a portion of the sleep data depicted in at least one of the plurality of image tiles to indicate when the diagnostic event occurred in connection with the depicted sleep data.

The script element is configured to be manually adjustable by the user within a display environment relative to the depicted sleep data. After generation of the image tiles and script element, the method transmits the plurality of image tiles and the at least one script element for display in a managed electronic environment.

Claims Coverage

The independent claims cover 5 inventive features directed to managing sleep related information by associating sensor-derived sleep data with sleep sessions, enabling selection of a session for download, generating image tiles, generating a manually adjustable diagnostic-event script element, and transmitting the tiles and script element.

Session-associated sleep data receiving, storage, and user session selection for download

Receiving sleep data comprising data from a plurality of sensors; storing the sleep data so as to associate the sleep data with a plurality of sleep sessions; enabling a user to select for download a selected sleep session.

Sleep-session image tiling for depicted sleep data

Generating a plurality of image tiles corresponding to the sleep data of the selected sleep session.

Manually adjustable script elements indicating diagnostic events over depicted tiles

Generating at least one script element indicative of a diagnostic event associated with the sleep data, the at least one script element configured to be displayed in association with a portion of the sleep data depicted in at least one of the plurality of image tiles, to indicate when the diagnostic event occurred in connection with the depicted sleep data, and manually adjustable by the user within a display environment relative to the depicted sleep data.

Transmission of image tiles and diagnostic-event script elements

Transmitting the plurality of image tiles and the at least one script element.

Across the independent claims, the inventive coverage is directed to session-associated sleep data management, generation of image tiles for a selected sleep session, display of a manually adjustable script element for a diagnostic event, and transmission of the tiles and script element.

Stated Advantages

Reduced download time.

Avoids downloading entire large sleep data files.

Prioritized tile loading, starting after a first tile and an event indicator.

Operation in a web browser without third-party plugins.

Documented Applications

Electronic management of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) data, including handling sleep sessions for download and display of diagnostic event information over depicted sleep data.

Clinical review workflow where a clinician selects an individual sleep session and reviews automatically scored diagnostic/SDB events.
