Abstract

A convenient self-locking blood pressure cuff facilitating one-handed use by a user taking his own blood pressure includes a cuff belt, a casing assembly, and a self-locking structure. The self-locking structure is received in the casing assembly. The self-locking structure includes a core shaft, a locking assembly, and a pressing assembly. The core shaft is slidably connected to the casing assembly. The locking assembly and the pressing assembly are wrapped around the core shaft. The locking assembly can rotate when a free end of the cuff belt moves with respect to the casing assembly. The locking assembly can further press against the cuff belt when the core shaft slides in the casing assembly. The pressing assembly presses against the locking assembly to prevent the locking assembly from rotating back.

Core Innovation

A self-locking blood pressure cuff includes a cuff belt with a fixed end and a free end, and a casing assembly in which the fixed end is fixed to the casing assembly while the free end movably passes through the casing assembly to cause the cuff belt to be folded. A self-locking structure is received in the casing assembly and includes a core shaft, a locking assembly, and a pressing assembly, where the core shaft is slidably connected to the casing assembly and the locking assembly and the pressing assembly are wrapped around the core shaft.

The locking assembly is configured to rotate when the free end of the cuff belt moves with respect to the casing assembly, and the locking assembly is further configured to press the cuff belt when the core shaft slides in the casing assembly. The pressing assembly is configured to press the locking assembly to prevent the locking assembly from rotating back, and comprises a first sleeve, at least one steel ball, and at least one coil spring, where the first sleeve is wrapped around the core shaft.

A loosenings assembly is received to control the pressing force of the pressing assembly on the locking assembly, with a user-accessible operating portion exposed via a casing opening. The core shaft is slidably connected to the casing assembly in cooperation with sliding grooves of a two-piece casing assembly, and the mechanism provides controlled unlocking and return for a next measurement while maintaining the cuff position against release or knocks and avoiding gear contact with an airbag to preserve measurement accuracy.

Claims Coverage

The document includes two independent claims centered on the same self-locking cuff mechanism, with 3 inventive features in total across the claims coverage. The claims recite the core-shaft self-locking structure, the pressing assembly with a first sleeve and aligned holes, and the blood pressure measuring device context.

Self-locking blood pressure cuff with movable free end and core-shaft self-locking structure

A self-locking blood pressure cuff in which a cuff belt having a fixed end and a free end folds by the free end movably passing through a casing assembly, and a self-locking structure received in the casing assembly includes a core shaft slidably connected to the casing assembly with a locking assembly and a pressing assembly wrapped around the core shaft, where the locking assembly rotates when the free end moves, presses the cuff belt when the core shaft slides, and the pressing assembly presses the locking assembly to prevent the locking assembly from rotating back.

Pressing assembly with first sleeve and aligned mounting holes

The pressing assembly comprises a first sleeve wrapped around the core shaft, at least one steel ball, and at least one coil spring, where an end of the first sleeve facing a gear defines a plurality of first mounting holes, and each mounting hole faces a respective positioning hole of a gear body of the gear.

Blood pressure measuring device using the self-locking blood pressure cuff

A blood pressure measuring device comprising the self-locking blood pressure cuff having the cuff belt folding by the movable free end passing through the casing assembly and the self-locking structure with the core shaft, locking assembly, and pressing assembly, where the locking assembly rotates when the free end moves, presses the cuff belt when the core shaft slides, and the pressing assembly presses the locking assembly to prevent the locking assembly from rotating back.

Overall, the claims focus on a core-shaft-based self-locking structure that rotates with movement of the cuff belt free end and presses the cuff belt as the core shaft slides, together with a pressing assembly that prevents reverse rotation and a first sleeve with mounting holes aligned with gear positioning holes.

Stated Advantages

Maintains cuff position against release or knocks during measurement.

Avoids gear contact with an airbag to preserve measurement accuracy.

Provides controlled unlocking and return for a next measurement.

Documented Applications

Used as a blood pressure measuring device with the described self-locking blood pressure cuff mechanism for measurement.
