Abstract

Methods and systems for evaluating health/disease state of an individual are provided herein. In particular, the disclosure provides methods for measuring levels of one or more metabolites of interest in an individual and using these measurements to assess the individual's health. The disclosure also provides systems for carrying out the disclosed methods. For example, the disclosed systems may include a metabolite level evaluation module to determine the individual's health based on the metabolite levels measured.

Core Innovation

The invention describes a method for improving gut health, emotional balance, cognitive acuity, energetic efficiency, and immuno fitness of an individual in need of improvement. The method includes collecting fluid samples from the individual and analyzing the fluid samples for the concentration of microbiome modified compounds, including indole propionic acid (IPA), indole-3-lactic acid (ILA), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), Tryptophan (TRP), Serotonin (SER), Kynurenine (KYN), Total Indoxyl Sulfate (IDS), Tyrosine (TYR), Xanthine (XAN), 3-Methylxanthine (3MXAN), and Uric Acid (UA) for one of the claim sets. Concentration results are then compared to standards concentrations.

Based on whether the measured concentrations fall outside the standards concentrations, the method provides for oral administration to the individual of one or more supplements selected from a prebiotic, a probiotic, a vitamin B complex, and CoQ10. The supplements are provided to raise or reduce the concentration, as the case may be, of components of the gut microbiome that affect the microbiome modified compounds having measured concentrations that fall outside the standards concentrations.

The method further includes repeating the cycle of collecting fluid samples, analyzing concentrations, comparing to standards concentrations, providing oral administration of the selected supplements, and repeating until the measured concentrations are brought to within the standards concentrations. Dependent claim language further specifies particular fluid sample sources such as blood, urine, or tears, and states that the standards concentrations are made using fluid samples collected and analyzed from multiple different individuals.

Claims Coverage

The document provides two independent methods with a total of a repeated multi-step workflow: collecting fluid samples, analyzing specified microbiome modified compounds, comparing to standards concentrations, orally administering selected supplements to adjust microbiome-related components, and repeating until concentrations fall within standards. The inventive features are largely the same across both independent claims, with one additional compound, Uric Acid (UA), and a smaller/greater set of microbiome modified compounds being measured.

Serial sample-to-standards evaluation of microbiome modified compounds

A method consisting of collecting fluid samples, analyzing the fluid samples for concentration of microbiome modified compounds consisting of indole propionic acid (IPA), indole-3-lactic acid (ILA), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), Tryptophan (TRP), Serotonin (SER), Kynurenine (KYN), Total Indoxyl Sulfate (IDS), Tyrosine (TYR), Xanthine (XAN), and 3-Methylxanthine (3MXAN), and for the other independent claim set also Uric Acid (UA), and comparing the concentration of the microbiome modified compounds to standards concentrations.

Oral administration of selected supplements to raise or reduce microbiome-related components

Providing for oral administration to the individual one or more supplements selected from the group consisting of a prebiotic, a probiotic, a vitamin B complex, and CoQ10 to raise or reduce the concentration, as the case may be, of components of the gut microbiome of the individual that affect the microbiome modified compounds that have measured concentrations that fall outside of the standards concentrations.

Iterative repeating until measured concentrations are within standards

Repeating the steps to bring the measured concentrations to within the standards concentrations.

Defining standards concentrations from multiple individuals

Specifying that the standards concentrations are made by collecting and analyzing fluid samples from multiple different individuals.

Supplement set constrained to two or more supplements

Further administering two or more supplements selected from the group consisting of a prebiotic, a probiotic, a vitamin B complex, and CoQ10.

Selecting specific fluid sample sources

Further specifying that the fluid samples include blood, urine, or tears.

Across both independent claims, the coverage centers on measuring specified microbiome modified compounds in fluid samples, comparing those concentrations to standards concentrations, orally administering supplements selected from prebiotic, probiotic, vitamin B complex, and CoQ10 to raise or reduce gut microbiome components affecting those compounds, and repeating the cycle until measured concentrations are within standards. Dependent claim language additionally narrows sample source, constrains supplement administration to two or more supplements, and defines how standards concentrations are produced using samples from multiple individuals.
