Abstract
A patient worn sensor assembly for detecting, recording, and communicating patient vital signs can be integrated into a garment to be worn by the patient. A lead assembly can be integrated into a garment to connect electrodes in contact with the skin of a patient to a sensor assembly that collects vital sign information from the electrodes. The lead assembly can be multi-layered and can include, for example, two outer anti-static satin fabric layers as top and bottom layers, muslin fabric insulator layers adjacent to the anti-static satin fabric layers, shield layers that include muslin with silver fabric adjacent to the insulator layers, and an inner layer of fabric with conductive thread (or alternatively conductive thread not integrated with other fabrics, or a layer that is substantially composed of conductive thread).
Core Innovation
The invention relates to a multi-layered lead assembly for use with a garment, configured to be sewn together from a first anti-static layer, a first insulator layer, a first shield layer, a center layer, a second shield layer, a second insulator layer, and a second anti-static layer. The first shield layer comprises muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric, and the second shield layer comprises muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric.
The center layer has fabric interwoven with conductive thread such that the conductive thread forms a plurality of electrical traces extending within the center layer. The center layer is positioned between the first shield layer and the second shield layer, and the first anti-static layer, first insulator layer, first shield layer, center layer, second shield layer, second insulator layer, and second anti-static layer are configured to be sewn together to form the multi-layered lead assembly.
The invention further provides a garment configured to at least partially cover a torso of a patient and to include the multi-layered lead assembly permanently affixed to the garment for collecting bio-metric signals. The garment includes a plurality of extensions, each extension having at least one corresponding electrical connector, and a plurality of openings on a chest portion configured to allow access to at least one extension and to permit at least one extension to extend through an opening.
Claims Coverage
The independent claims are clm-00001, clm-00016, and clm-00017, covering three inventive features: the sewn multi-layered lead assembly structure, a garment with permanently affixed multi-layered lead assembly including extensions and chest openings, and a garment collecting bio-metric signals with the same multi-layered construction plus extensions and chest openings.
Sewn multi-layered lead assembly with anti-static, insulating, shield, and center trace layer
A multi-layered lead assembly for use with a garment, comprising a first anti-static layer; a first insulator layer positioned between the first anti-static layer and a first shield layer comprising muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric; a center layer having fabric interwoven with conductive thread such that the conductive thread forms a plurality of electrical traces extending within the center layer, the center layer positioned between the first shield layer and a second shield layer comprising muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric; a second insulator layer; and a second anti-static layer, wherein the layers are configured to be sewn together to form the multi-layered lead assembly.
Garment permanently affixed to multi-layered lead assembly with extensions and chest openings
A garment configured to at least partially cover a torso of a patient, the garment comprising a multi-layered lead assembly permanently affixed to the garment, the multi-layered lead assembly including the layered construction with a center layer forming a plurality of electrical traces, wherein the multi-layered lead assembly comprises a plurality of extensions each extension having at least one corresponding electrical connector, and the garment includes a plurality of openings on a chest portion configured to allow access to at least one extension and permit at least one extension to extend through the at least one opening.
Bio-metric collection garment with muslin-integrated silver shield layers plus extensions and chest openings
A garment configured to at least partially cover a torso of a patient, the garment comprising a multi-layered lead assembly for collecting bio-metric signals from a patient, the multi-layered lead assembly including a first anti-static layer, a first insulator layer, a first shield layer comprising muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric, a center layer with fabric interwoven with conductive thread forming a plurality of electrical traces extending within the center layer, a second shield layer comprising muslin fabric integrated with a silver fabric, a second insulator layer, and a second anti-static layer, wherein the multi-layered lead assembly comprises a plurality of extensions each extension having at least one corresponding electrical connector, and wherein the garment includes a plurality of openings on a chest portion configured to allow access to at least one extension and permit at least one extension to extend through the at least one opening.
Overall, the independent claims define a garment-compatible multi-layered lead assembly built from anti-static layers, insulator layers, muslin fabric integrated with silver fabric shield layers, and a center conductive-thread fabric layer forming multiple electrical traces, with the layered components sewn together. The independent garment claims add that the lead assembly is permanently affixed to a torso-covering garment, includes extensions with electrical connectors, and provides chest openings that allow access to and passage of extensions.
