Abstract
Systems and methods for analyzing recorded data from one recording device, or a subset of recording devices to identify redactions that should be made to the recorded data. The identified redactions may be in accordance with a redaction policy. The identified redactions may be applied to recorded data recorded by other devices that recorded data the same incident. The redactions may be made to recorded data that was not analyzed prior to performing the redactions, so the redactions identified in one recorded data are performed in other recorded data that was not used to identify the types of redactions that should be made. Applying redactions to data that was not analyzed to determine what types of redactions should be made reduces the amount of time required to analyze recorded data for redaction.
Core Innovation
The invention provides a computer-implemented method and a system for cross-redacting recorded data captured at the same incident by a plurality of recording devices. The method receives first recorded data and second recorded data captured by different sensors of different recording devices at the same incident, identifies information in the first recorded data to be redacted, identifies one or more first frames of data associated with the identified information to be redacted, and performs a respective first redaction on each first frame in the first recorded data.
For each first frame of data, the method finds a respective second frame of data in the second recorded data aligned in time with the first frame, with the respective second frame found after the first frame is identified. The method then performs the respective first redaction on the respective second frame of data in the second recorded data. In a system embodiment, a processing circuit identifies information in first stored data in accordance with a redaction policy, identifies one or more first frames associated with the identified information, and applies respective redaction tasks to time-aligned second frames in second stored data.
The invention further includes exchanging and applying redaction criteria across devices to avoid re-identifying redaction locations in every dataset. In another method embodiment, a processing circuit selects first recorded data associated with a first redaction criteria and selects second recorded data associated with a second redaction criteria, then redacts each recorded stream at corresponding time-aligned frames according to one or more redaction tasks identified for each frame.
Claims Coverage
The partial claims include three independent claims. Across these claims, the main inventive features include identifying redaction targets in one device’s data, time-aligning corresponding frames in other devices’ data captured at the same incident, and performing the associated redaction tasks on the time-aligned frames using stored redaction criteria and/or redaction policy.
Time-aligned cross-redaction between devices at the same incident
receiving a first recorded data and a second recorded data captured at the same incident by different sensors of different recording devices; identifying information in the first recorded data to be redacted; identifying one or more first frames associated with the identified information; performing a respective first redaction on each first frame; finding a respective second frame in the second recorded data aligned in time with the first frame; and performing the respective first redaction on the respective second frame.
Processing circuit applies redaction tasks to time-aligned frames in stored data using a redaction policy
the processing circuit identifies information in first stored data to be redacted in accordance with a redaction policy; identifies one or more first frames associated with the identified information; identifies a respective first redaction task for each first frame; finds a respective second frame in second stored data that aligns in time with the first frame; and performs the respective first redaction task on the second stored data at the respective second frame.
Criteria-based bidirectional redaction across streams using time-aligned corresponding frames
selecting first recorded data associated with a first redaction criteria and second recorded data associated with a second redaction criteria; for a first frame identified in the first redaction criteria, finding a first corresponding frame in the second recorded data that aligns in time with the first frame and redacting the second recorded data at the first corresponding frame; and for a second frame identified in the second redaction criteria, finding a second corresponding frame in the first recorded data that aligns in time with the second frame and redacting the first recorded data at the second corresponding frame.
Across the independent claims, the patent coverage centers on cross-redaction of incident-recorded data across multiple recording devices by identifying frames to be redacted in one dataset, finding corresponding time-aligned frames in other datasets, and applying redaction tasks and/or redaction tasks in accordance with a redaction policy, with additional claim structure supporting stored redaction criteria.
Stated Advantages
Exchanging and applying redaction criteria across devices avoids re-identifying redaction locations in every dataset.
Documented Applications
Cross-redacting recorded data captured at the same incident by a plurality of recording devices.
