Abstract
The invention provides to a powdered composition of additives and a method of use thereof for increasing the visibility, potency and coverage of disinfectant solutions, such as bleach.
Core Innovation
The disclosed invention provides a method for increasing the visibility of a disinfectant solution applied to a surface or an object. The method includes providing a disinfectant solution and providing a solid or liquid composition comprising a surfactant and a water-soluble oxidizable pigment, with an amount of the composition mixed with the disinfectant solution immediately prior to use.
After mixing, the disinfectant solution is applied to the surface or object as a spray or film. The amount is sufficient to color the disinfectant solution so that, after application, the color clearly marks where the spray or film has or has not been applied.
The color of the disinfectant solution fades to clear within a period of time. This fading to clear provides a time-limited visual indication while avoiding persistent coloring or staining.
Claims Coverage
Two independent claims are identified: clm-00001 and clm-00005. Both claims center on the same combination of a disinfectant solution with a separately provided composition containing a surfactant and a water-soluble oxidizable pigment mixed immediately prior to use, together with application that produces visible coverage and then fades to clear within a period of time.
Visibility-enhancing disinfectant with surfactant and oxidizable pigment
Providing a disinfectant solution; providing a solid or liquid composition comprising a surfactant and a water-soluble oxidizable pigment; mixing an amount of the composition with the disinfectant solution immediately prior to use; and applying the disinfectant solution to the surface or object as a spray or film, wherein the amount is sufficient to color the disinfectant solution so that the color clearly marks where the spray or film has or has not been applied and the color fades to clear within a period of time.
Disinfecting with color-marking spray or film that fades to clear
Providing a disinfectant solution; providing a solid or liquid composition comprising a surfactant and a water-soluble oxidizable pigment; mixing an amount of the composition with the disinfectant solution immediately prior to use; and applying the disinfectant solution to the surface or object as a spray or film, wherein the amount is sufficient to color the disinfectant solution so that the color clearly marks where the spray or film has or has not been applied and the color fades to clear within a period of time.
Across both independent claims, coverage visibility is achieved by mixing, immediately prior to use, a disinfectant solution with a surfactant plus a water-soluble oxidizable pigment; application as a spray or film provides visual marking of treated versus untreated areas, and the color is required to fade to clear within a period of time.
Stated Advantages
Clearly marks where the spray or film has or has not been applied to the surface or object.
Color fades to clear within a period of time.
Documented Applications
Improving visibility and surface coverage when applying disinfectant solution to a surface or an object, including disinfectant solutions used as sprays or films.
Use with conventional disinfectants such as bleach to provide a colorizing visual indicator that helps show where disinfectant has been applied and then fades to clear.
