Abstract
A regulator diameter device to extract an element that is inside a cavity, which is introduced together with a flexible sleeve and an applicator, which comprises an adjustment strip of flexible material; and at least of a mean to regulate said diameter, with the adjustment strip open. The means to regulate such strip: a hollow case with a distal end and a proximal end, fixed to one of the traction handles, at least one string passes through this case, in which the distal ends of the at least one string, are fixed to the open ends of the adjustment strip, while the proximal ends of the string are fixed to a pulling system. The method of use of regulator diameter device to extract an element that is inside a cavity comprises the following steps: a. Introduce the combination (regulator device and the applicator) inside the cavity until the applicators' cup makes its first contact with the element to be extracted; b) go on pushing the combination which will open the distal ends of the applicator tentacles; c) once the mayor area of the element to be extracted is passed a first regulation of the adjustment strip is done, pulling the trigger and blocking it in this new position; d) keep on pushing until the final insertion; e) regulate again the adjustment strip until its final measure, being able to measure the diameter of the element to be extracted, which can be read in the pulling system scale; f) inflate the air chamber if the device has one; g) remove the applicator; h) pull the traction handles to extract the element that is inside the cavity.
Core Innovation
The invention relates to a regulator diameter device to extract an element that is inside a cavity. The device includes a flexible folded sleeve with an inner sleeve and an external sleeve, and an applicator having a cup and spatulas. The flexible folded sleeve has both ends open, with a fold in a distal end, and the proximal end includes at least two traction handles and pockets to lodge the spatulas of the applicator. The applicator further includes an indicator guide for movement of the spatulas with respect to the cup.
The regulator diameter device further comprises an adjustment strip of flexible material secured at or near the distal end of the flexible folded sleeve and having a circumferential shape with a longitudinal cut. A diameter of the adjustment strip is modified by means modifying fixed to edges of the longitudinal cut. The text describes a mechanism where a pulling system acts on the adjustment strip, with traction handles connected to a hollow case and a string passing through the hollow case and attached to ends of the adjustment strip, thereby reducing the diameter of the strip.
In addition, the disclosed applicator arrangement includes spatulas and a movement guide, and the text states optional use of a toroid air chamber with inflate/deflate means. A method of use described in the content includes staged pushing, intermediate and final diameter regulation using the pulling-system structure, and removal of the applicator followed by traction-handle extraction. The document states that diameter and traction can be monitored using a pulling-system scale and/or a dynamometer with a spring or a scaled spring, and it describes a configuration intended to contact the cephalic pole with the adjustment strip.
Claims Coverage
The independent claim is directed to a regulator diameter device comprising a flexible folded sleeve and an applicator with spatulas and an indicator guide, together with a distal adjustment strip whose diameter is modified via means fixed to edges of a longitudinal cut. The dependent claims add further inventive features, including specific diameter-modifying mechanisms using a pulling system, and measurement/indication features, and a cone-shaped configuration for contacting cephalic-pole regions.
Regulator diameter flexible folded sleeve extraction device
A regulator diameter device to extract an element inside a cavity, comprising a flexible folded sleeve and an applicator, where the flexible folded sleeve has both ends open with a fold in a distal end, includes an inner sleeve and an external sleeve with proximal ends at least partially linked, and a proximal end having at least two traction handles and pockets to lodge spatulas of the applicator.
Applicator with cup, spatulas pockets, and indicator guide
An applicator having a cup, spatulas that fit in the pockets of the flexible folded sleeve, and an indicator guide for movement of the spatulas with respect to the cup.
Distal flexible adjustment strip with longitudinal cut and diameter-modifying means
An adjustment strip of flexible material secured at or near the distal end of the flexible folded sleeve, having a circumferential shape with a longitudinal cut, and means for modifying a diameter of the adjustment strip fixed to edges of the longitudinal cut.
Pulling system for diameter modification via hollow case and string attachments
Means for modifying a diameter of the adjustment strip based on a pulling system, including a hollow case with distal and proximal ends connected to the flexible folded sleeve and traction handles, and at least one string linked to open ends of the adjustment strip via attachment points to trigger the modifying means.
Diameter indication using a graduated scale along a fixed axis
A graduated scale along a fixed axis to indicate diameter changes of an adjustment strip.
Traction measurement using a scaled dynamometer
A scaled dynamometer connected to at least one string or similar element to indicate tension of the at least one string or similar element.
Cone-shaped adjustment strip configured to contact cephalic pole regions
A cone-shaped adjustment strip configured to extend anatomically around a cephalic pole and contact at least part of a nose or ears when used to extract a fetus from a cavity.
Across the independent claim and refinements, the main inventive concept is the combination of an extraction device using a flexible folded sleeve and applicator with spatulas and an indicator guide, together with a distal flexible adjustment strip having a longitudinal cut whose diameter is modified via means fixed to the cut edges. The dependent features further specify a pulling-system drive for the diameter modification and add measurement/indication via a graduated scale and/or a scaled dynamometer, including a cone-shaped configuration for contacting cephalic pole regions.
Stated Advantages
Shrinking the device diameter by traction at the handles rather than through distal contact, to reduce cavity wall pressure/friction.
Providing wider soft contact to the element, notably to the fetal cephalic pole.
Simplifying introduction by closing tentacles during insertion.
Enabling diameter and traction measurement via a scale and/or a dynamometer (spring or scaled spring).
Documented Applications
Assisting childbirth by extracting a fetus from a cavity, including use of a cone-shaped adjustment strip configured to extend around a cephalic pole and contact at least part of a nose or ears.
