Abstract
According to an aspect of an embodiment, a method may include obtaining, at a mobile biometric-data hub, a first biometric reading of a user. The method may also include, based on the first biometric reading, associating the mobile biometric-data hub with the user. The method may also include wirelessly receiving, at the mobile biometric-data hub, a second biometric reading from a biometric sensor distinct from the mobile biometric-data hub. The method may also include determining that the second biometric reading is of the user. The method may also include, based on the second biometric reading being of the user and based on the association between the mobile biometric-data hub and the user, tagging the second biometric reading with an identifier of the user. The method may also include communicating the tagged second biometric reading from the mobile biometric-data hub to a network-attached device.
Core Innovation
The invention provides a mobile biometric-data hub that obtains a first biometric reading of a user and, based on the first biometric reading, associates the mobile biometric-data hub with the user. The hub wirelessly receives a second biometric reading from a biometric sensor distinct from the mobile biometric-data hub and determines that the second biometric reading is of the user.
After determining that the second biometric reading is of the user, the hub tags the second biometric reading with an identifier of the user based on the second biometric reading being of the user and based on the association between the mobile biometric-data hub and the user. The hub also wirelessly receives a third biometric reading sensed previously by the biometric sensor, where the third biometric reading is tagged with a second identifier of a second user.
The hub communicates both the tagged second biometric reading and the third biometric reading tagged with the second identifier to a network-attached device in a single batch. In corresponding hub and system structures, the mobile biometric-data hub includes data storage, a first biometric sensor, a communication interface, and a processor configured to associate, determine, tag, store, and direct communication of the biometric readings.
Claims Coverage
The document includes three independent claims. Across these claims, the coverage centers on four inventive features: user association using a first biometric reading at a mobile biometric-data hub, wireless receipt and determination of a second biometric reading from a distinct sensor, tagging of received readings with user identifiers, and communication of multiple tagged readings in a single batch to a network-attached device, with related hub and system structures.
Associating a mobile biometric-data hub with a user using a first biometric reading
Obtaining, at a mobile biometric-data hub, a first biometric reading of a user; based on the first biometric reading, associating the mobile biometric-data hub with the user.
Wirelessly receiving a second biometric reading from a distinct biometric sensor and determining it is of the user
Wirelessly receiving, at the mobile biometric-data hub, a second biometric reading from a biometric sensor distinct from the mobile biometric-data hub; determining that the second biometric reading is of the user.
Tagging the second biometric reading with a user identifier based on association
Based on the second biometric reading being of the user and based on the association between the mobile biometric-data hub and the user, tagging the second biometric reading with an identifier of the user.
Receiving a previously sensed third biometric reading tagged with a second identifier
Wirelessly receiving, at the mobile biometric-data hub, a third biometric reading sensed previously by the biometric sensor, the third biometric reading tagged with a second identifier of a second user.
Communicating tagged second and third biometric readings to a network-attached device in a single batch
Communicating both the tagged second biometric reading and the third biometric reading tagged with the second identifier of the second user to a network-attached device in a single batch.
Mobile biometric-data hub architecture to associate, tag, store, and batch-communicate readings
A mobile biometric-data hub comprising a data storage, a first biometric sensor, a communication interface, and a processor configured to associate the hub with the user based on the first biometric reading, determine that the second biometric reading is of the user, tag the second biometric reading with an identifier of the user, instruct data storage to store the second biometric reading and the third biometric reading, and direct the communication interface to communicate both in a single batch.
System with biometric sensing device, mobile biometric-data hub, and network-attached device with single-batch reception and forwarding
A system comprising a biometric sensing device, a mobile biometric-data hub, a data storage, and a network-attached device, with single-batch reception of the tagged readings and forwarding of the tagged first biometric reading to a separate computing device over a communication network.
Taken together, the claims cover a biometric-data flow in which a mobile biometric-data hub uses a first biometric reading to associate with a user, then qualifies and tags a second biometric reading received wirelessly from a distinct biometric sensor, receives a third reading previously sensed and tagged with another user identifier, and communicates both tagged readings to a network-attached device in a single batch. The system claim further distributes roles among a biometric sensing device, the mobile biometric-data hub, and the network-attached device.
