Abstract
An image-based diagnostic system may include graphical user interfaces that include image icons. Users may select image icon(s) and/or other icon(s) related to an analysis of expert images, such as medical images. Analytical reports may be generated based on the selection(s). In some implementations, the image icons may be correlated to reference information and references may be retrieved based on image icon(s).
Core Innovation
The invention relates to an image-based medical diagnostic system in which a graphical user interface is generated for presentation on a user device and is related to one or more patient test results presented to a user via a third party interface. The graphical user interface comprises a plurality of image icons, where each image icon includes at least a portion of a medical photographic image of an example characteristic, and the example characteristic is not a portion of the patient test results presented via the third party interface.
The system receives a selection of one or more image icons and a request for reference information associated with at least one selected image icon. In response, the system retrieves a first set of reference information from a second set of reference information stored in a database, based on one or more selected image icons and indexed based at least partially on one or more relationships to one or more of the image icons; the retrieved reference information does not include patient medical history associated with the patient test results presented via the third party interface.
The invention further determines one or more outcomes and a probability of an outcome using follow up test results for a plurality of patients and the received image icon selections for the plurality of patients. Additional functionality includes determining outcomes based on image icon selections for the patient and previously determined outcomes, and determining a probability of an outcome based on the selected image icons and the previously determined outcomes.
Claims Coverage
Two independent claims are present. The claims cover three shared inventive features and one additional feature in the second independent claim.
Icon-based graphical user interface linked to third-party patient test results
Generating a graphical user interface to be presented on a user device related to one or more patient test results presented to a user via a third party interface, wherein the graphical user interface comprises a plurality of image icons, and each image icon comprises at least a portion of a medical photographic image of an example characteristic not being a portion of the patient test results.
Reference retrieval indexed by image-icon relationships without patient medical history
Receiving a selection of one or more of the image icons and a request for reference information associated with at least one selected image icon, and in response retrieving a first set of reference information based on one or more selected image icons from a second set stored in a database, wherein the second set does not include patient medical history associated with the patient test results and is indexed based at least partially on one or more relationships to one or more of the image icons.
Outcome determination and probability based on icon selections and follow-up test results
Receiving one or more follow up test results for a plurality of patients, determining one or more outcomes based on received image icon selections for the plurality of patients and the received follow-up test results, and determining a probability of an outcome based on one or more of the selected image icons for the patient and one or more previously determined outcomes.
Diagnostic graphical user interface using anatomical-location selections and automatic report generation
Generating a diagnostic graphical user interface related to one or more patient test results presented via a third party interface, wherein the graphical user interface comprises one or more image icons including one or more breast image icons with a characteristic of a portion of a breast in mammography; receiving a selection of one or more anatomical locations, receiving a selection of one or more image icons to associate with at least one previously received anatomical location, and automatically generating a report comprising at least a portion of a diagnosis for the patient based on at least one selected image icon and at least one associated anatomical location.
Across both independent claims, the inventive aspects include presenting patient test results via a third party interface with medical photographic image icons, retrieving reference information indexed by relationships to selected image icons while excluding patient medical history, and using follow-up test results with icon selections to determine outcomes and probabilities. The second independent claim further includes anatomical-location selection and automatic diagnostic report generation based on selected image icons and associated anatomical locations.
