Products
Reentry-capable orbital production satellite (free-flying capsule)
A free‑flying orbital production satellite and attached reentry capsule enabling autonomous materials processing in microgravity and safe terrestrial recovery of payloads.
Varda W-Series vehicle
Varda’s W-Series spacecraft is a free flyer—it’s self-sustaining, fully independent of other space stations, and capable of safely bringing materials back to Earth. It is the first-ever commercial satellite and reentry vehicle built specifically for the return of materials from orbit.
W-2 capsule
The W-2 capsule launched as part of the Transporter-12 rideshare mission with SpaceX on Jan. 14, 2025. It spent six weeks in orbit before successfully reentering at the Koonibba Test Range in South Australia, operated by Southern Launch. It carried payloads including a spectrometer from the Air Force Research Laboratory and employed a heatshield with a Thermal Protection System developed with NASA’s Ames Research Center. It also includes Varda’s expanded pharmaceutical reactor.
W-5
W-5 is a next-generation hypersonic reentry capsule designed for orbital pharmaceutical processing and high-velocity reentry, launched on SpaceX's Transporter-15 mission and successfully recovered for post-flight analysis.
W-4
The W-4 mission was the maiden flight for Varda’s new satellite bus, designed and built in Varda’s El Segundo headquarters and manufacturing facility. It provided the capsule with power, communications, attitude control, and propulsion while in orbit. The mission included a heatshield produced entirely in Varda’s factory and a new approach to processing pharmaceuticals. It was authorized by the FAA for reentry through 2029 under a vehicle operator license.
Varda's capsule
A modular orbital capsule designed for rapid iteration and high production rates, built for materials rather than humans, completing the space logistics chain with frequent reentry from orbit to Earth.
