Mid Atlantic Bio Angels
Mid Atlantic Bio Angels (MABA) is a New York–based angel investor group, formed in 2012, that invests exclusively in life science companies worldwide. Membership is by invitation and limited to active, accredited investors and institutional life-science venture arms. MABA provides direct angel investments, member pools and co-investment through Sidecar Funds, and runs screening, diligence and pitch feedback programs for early-stage life-science companies.

Direct Angel Investments
Individual MABA members make equity investments in life-science companies, typically participating in initial rounds and follow-on rounds.
MABA Members-Only Pools
Closed pools of MABA members used to aggregate member capital and invest alongside individual member commitments.
Sidecar Funds (Co-investment Vehicles)
Sidecar Fund I (closed to new investors) and Sidecar Fund II (open-ended) allow accredited non-member investors to co-invest automatically, on the same terms and ratio as MABA investments when pre-set conditions are met.
Pitch Feedback / Office Hours (Practice Pitch)
Monthly office hours where companies present 10-minute pitches to a panel of MABA investors and receive 10 minutes of feedback; intended for companies that may be too early for funding.
Screening and Diligence Support
A monthly screening committee reviews applications, invites selected companies to present, and coordinates member diligence for investments.
Introductions to Sponsors and Service Providers
MABA lists sponsors (law, lab services, PR, recruitment, leadership development) and offers to make introductions on behalf of portfolio companies.
