Malcisbo

Malcisbo AG is a biopharmaceutical company founded in 2010 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, specializing in glycoengineering technologies to develop novel and efficient glycoconjugate vaccines. Their mission is to reduce antibiotic treatment in farming animals to prevent antibiotic resistance, focusing on bacterial diseases affecting animal health, human food safety, and zoonotic diseases. They develop vaccines targeting pathogens such as Campylobacter and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, aiming to significantly reduce the use of antibiotics in agriculture.

Products

Glycoengineered live oral poultry vaccine targeting Campylobacter jejuni

A live, orally delivered glycoconjugate vaccine for broiler chickens that expresses conserved Campylobacter N-glycans on a bacterial vector to reduce intestinal Campylobacter loads and subsequent food contamination.

Polyvalent glycoengineered swine vaccine targeting Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP)

A polyvalent glycoconjugate vaccine candidate for pigs that expresses specific APP sugar moieties on a bacterial vector to provide cross-serotype protection against pleuropneumonia.
