HIV/AIDS Network Coordination
HANC supports the HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks of the U.S. NIH by creating an integrated, collaborative, and flexible research structure. It facilitates coordination across networks, supports community engagement, and promotes research in HIV prevention, vaccines, therapeutics, and cure. Based at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, HANC works globally to increase efficiency, resource-sharing, and representation of diverse communities in HIV research. It also provides leadership and logistical support for cross-network coordination efforts, including the HVTN and IMPAACT networks, and engages in global HIV research activities and conferences.

Coordinate laboratory working groups, publish processing SOPs, and liaise with external QA/proficiency providers to ensure standardized laboratory testing for clinical trials.
Convene data-management working groups and partner with statistical/data centers to harmonize data collection, QA practices, and cross-study data sharing.
