Autonomy Through the Edges of Care: From Point of Injury to Return to Duty

Date & Time

November 4, 2026

Description

This member showcase follows wounded service members from the point of injury, through resuscitation and prolonged care, and into recovery after discharge. The forward edge is the battlefield and the evacuation chain. The far edge is everything after discharge. Between them sits the critical core, the resuscitation bay and prolonged care. Autonomy plays a different role in each.

Act I: The Forward Edge | Point of injury and evacuation.

• Sibel Health | Steve Xu, MD, CEO and Co-Founder: wireless, FDA-cleared ANNE vital-signs sensors that travel with the patient from injury onward.

• Vantorix Systems | Mark Mims, Founder and CEO: RemIO, robotic, remotely supervised intraosseous vascular access for austere settings (in development). The machine performs the procedure while a remote human oversees.

Act II: The Critical Core | Resuscitation and prolonged care.

• Infuse Health | Matthew Levin, MD, Founder: a four-channel critical care infusion pump with drug-safety interlocks and smart alarms.

• Autonomous Healthcare | Behnood Gholami, PhD, Co-Founder and CEO: closed-loop vasopressor and fluid management, plus ventilator waveform analysis software that received FDA De Novo authorization in June 2026.

• Moberg Analytics | Dick Moberg, CEO and Founder / Ethan Moyer, VP of R&D: AI neuromonitoring for traumatic brain injury and neurocritical care.

Act III: The Far Edge | Recovery after discharge.

• SurgiFlow AI | Jared Strickland, Founder: adaptive post-operative recovery plans and adherence monitoring. The machine runs the workflow and escalates exceptions to clinicians.

Each company presents for six minutes, with a short moderated discussion at the close of each act. The hour ends with a cross-panel Q&A on three questions: how these systems hand off to one another along the casualty's path, how they keep working when the network is down, and when a clinician should override the machine. For members working on prolonged care, en route care, or autonomous decision support, this is a quick way to see where peers sit on the autonomy range and who might make a good teaming partner.
