Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Management: “Planning Considerations For Founders"
Founders and small business owners typically devote all of their working energy towards their businesses – and for good reason! This may lead to neglecting their personal finances, particularly as it relates to planning considerations around their ownership in their businesses. In this session, we’ll provide an overview on planning considerations and tax mitigation strategies geared towards founders and business owners in the biotech and medical device industries. We’ll also provide an update on planning considerations following the recent enactment of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Specifically, we’ll address planning considerations for business owners throughout the lifecycle of a company (from choice of entity through navigating an exit) and highlight potential tax mitigation strategies including Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS), Installment Sales to Grantor Trusts, Valuation Discounts and Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs).
